According to the Wall Street Journal, two young stars have the hottest haircuts of the year: actress Emma Watson and singer Justin Bieber. The paper has dubbed their hairstyles the "Most Influential" of 2011.
“Hairstylists are being inundated with requests for pixie cuts and the Bieber swish,” the WSJ notes. (As you can see in the photo above, though, Bieber doesn't even have the "Bieber swish" anymore - he cut his hair in February.)
Nonetheless, the paper continues, “The enthusiasm plays out online, where the fastest-rising searches for celebrity haircuts on Google are for Ms. Watson and Mr. Bieber.”
According to the Journal, Watson’s cropped cut is particularly notable, since for women, “short hair hasn’t been trendy since the ’90s.” Currently, celebs like Michelle Williams, Halle Berry and Pink are also rocking the pixie.
The WSJ names other fashion highlights from 2011, including the Royal Wedding (deemed the “Fashion Event of the Year”); Kanye West’s Paris Fashion Week debut (the “Biggest Runway Flop"); and Target’s in-demand Missoni collaboration.
Also popular this year? The Mid-Century style, as seen on “Mad Men”; three-piece suits (a la Justin Timberlake); and the Alexander McQueen Met exhibit.
What trends will you remember from 2011?
Hello my friend! I want to say that this article is awesome, nice written and come with approximately all important infos. I'd like to peer more posts like this .
Emma is the most beautiful woman that I've seen, she looks beautiful anyway... Justin is such a gay.
Bieber looks like a girl trying to look like a boy with that hair style
IDIOT!! I mean really??
obvious troll is obvious
I like her smirk, but the eye makeup is too dark and the haircut makes her ears stick out- in a slightly Obamaesque fashion.
@Danielle,yea like you have one lol.
You're all idiots. Get lives. I should be getting back to mine before you waste more of my time.
Thank you for this in-depth story Lindsay Hunter-Lopez. I do have one question for you.
What is it like swirling the drain of journalism?
IMO, the only woman who looks hot with a Pixie cut is Halle Berry (who has had that cut for YEARS before Emma Watson). I am a fan of Emma, Michelle Williams, and Pink, but I just think Halle is the only woman who can pull it off and actually look even hotter.
The audio in the middle is what makes it classic. Seriously though I'm wondering what the purpose of the bot is. Can't see any financial motivation.
Time for you to get your d-bag eyes out of the distorted fantasy that is Playboy and most photoshopped fashion magazines and realize that her body is totally normal. Now go back to the frat house and let the adults have a conversation.
I'm not trying to rip apart Emma Watson because I REALLY do like her a lot. I think before she cut her hair she was a very pretty girl. I'm not even saying she's not pretty anymore but she dropped a lot. I only speak up because I don't want girls to read this garbage and think guys actually like it.
Finally! someone on these comments i agree with
Oh my God...you guys don't speak for the entire male species. Some men like short hair. Get over it.
Newsflash: Why do girls have to care what guys like or don't like? It's her hair and her choice.
Someone put a round in Bieber's beautiful head...
Unfortunately, most Americans live vicariously through the pop and celebrity cultures, which are rife in the United States.
You are so right, infact it's not just Americans-most of the world wants to live like American celebrities.
Please listen to your doctor and take your meds....
You know who else it hot right now? Hansel...so hot right now...Hansel....
Oh and I'm not your bra- lololololol.
Separate note: Justin's suit looks terrible. Other than that, whatever. Live and let live guys. They aren't hurting you. And also, some guys do like short hair... some guys don't. You couldn't ever say "ALL GUYS LIKE THIS OR THAT" etc. It will never be true. Kay I'm done. Goodnight.
What does 'fatty above the boobies' mean? Her head? @Colt45 – true! I guess those 2 ppl in America w/ 'perfect bodies' must be really bored to be on here making comments. Lol!
Emma Watson really gets on my nerves. When she was 6 years old on the first HP she was cute. Now she is just annoying.
@emillie...... She may get on your nerves, but she gets on my schlong.
You're the annoying, Emma is beautiful, she's so beautiful.
Well then, they look nice and ugly. Or super disgusting.
hey people, remember the saying if you haven't got anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all?
@Epidi.... Not at all, look at the picture, big fatty scrunch up.
Not being very attractive to begin with, I will never understand why Watson chose to chop off her hair. The pixie cut is the worst thing to happen to women hair since Sinead O'Connors shaved dome.
Seriously? You're kidding – right?
Emma has beautiful pewbs so manicured
Surely those who criticize ones weight have perfect bodies. If not, please refrain.
I love Emma she looks great as always. Justin Bieber needs a suit that fits.
Dude Richard i agree. Bieber is soo gay. Ema Watson has always looked bad so it doesnt matter.<3
EMMA IS BEAUTIFUL, you're gay
I literally thought Bieber was a lady there. Also, get a suit that fits. You look like a clown in a suit two sizes to big.
Drop it in all the haters bocas!
I work at a middle school and I see boys that look like Emma Watson everyday.
Emma Watson has the WORST hair cut of any woman I've seen this year. As a young adult male she's not even 1/10 as attractive as she was before she cut her hair.
Emma's face is still beautiful, then her haircut doesn't matter... She's beautiful anyway..
@derp Emma looks like a boy,and not a good looking one.
@derp,maybe they look like twins to you is because she's so butch lol.
Marty, please. If there is anything about Beiber that you find somehow masculine, you need to have your testosterone lebel checked.
Watson is an adorable young woman. So is Beiber.
Bieber is so g ay, it makes them look like twins
