Gaga: Suit from former assistant is 'without merit'

A former member of Lady Gaga's entourage has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the pop star over allegedly unpaid overtime.

According to the New York Post, 41-year-old Long Island resident Jennifer O'Neill was employed as Gaga's personal assistant for 13 months, on hand as the singer conducted her Monster Ball world tour in 2010.

O'Neill is said to have alleged in a lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court last week that she has about 7,168 hours of unpaid overtime, and is reportedly seeking $380,000 in compensation from Gaga's Mermaid Touring company.

The NYPost also reports that O'Neill claims to have worked for Gaga around the clock without breaks for meals or, sometimes, sleep. She reportedly says she served as the singer's "personal alarm clock," and was asked to perform tasks such as "ensuring the promptness of a towel following a shower."

The paper adds that O'Neill is also seeking unspecified damages in the suit.

Reps for Gaga tell CNN that O'Neill's "lawsuit is completely without merit."

someone please tell me where you can get a PA job that pays $200,000 a year (or for 13 months). That is pretty freaking good... I think the PA should shut up because after that extra $300,000 she is a millionaire ($500,000 is twice the millionaire requirement for the Obama tax goons). that makes her a 1%er and an instant enemy of California...

Good luck finding another job, chica. It's one thing to sue for a proper amount owed for what you think you lost. But over $350k? I wouldn't hire someone so sue-happy If I were a hiring manager or a "job creator."

She should be grateful she had a job at all !! Why do people seek such high damages ??? won't go to court, a waste of time & energy. Gaga does not seem the type to screw someone out of pay. move on

If we were to believe the assistant, then she worked about 25 hours of overtime daily. Something smells fishy to me...

As an agent for celebrity personal assistants, I can tell you right now that the overtime needs to be negotiated and included in the contract.

There are 9048 hours total in 13 months thats 24 hours a day every day for 13 months. If you worked a 40 hour work week for 13 months that would equal 2,240 hour. Overtime starts after 40 hours per week. 2240 – 9048 = 7,168 hours. 7,168 hours of overtime pay is what was claimed as being owed. This person is claiming they worked 24 hours a day everyday for 13 months.

Jennifer shouldnt even send him a suit. GaGa has plenty of money and can afford to buy his own clothes. That lady GaGa is one odd guy.

Thats just the figure on overtime.Add that to actual wages and how much is it?
And for what?Shes complaining for being someones personal assistant?
For that kind of money you can wipe someones butt and be happy about it.
Compared to what some of us do for minimum wage? Its BS.
If anything b*/tch was overpaid.I normally dont stick up for celebs but gaga seems like a sincere person.
You cant blame people for being successful for being themselves.
