CW buys Eva Longoria's legal dramaAs "Desperate Housewives" finishes its final season, star Eva Longoria’s lined up a new gig, and this time it's behind the camera. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Longoria, 36, has sold a script order to the CW network. Legal drama "Vega v. Vega" follows a young successful lawyer forced into business with her attorney mom.
The mother-daughter legal team has a love-hate relationship, which could lead to some entertaining TV drama on the one-hour show. Longoria is listed as one of Forbes’ highest-paid TV actresses, but that’s not all she does. Eva has a restaurant chain, Beso, a recently released cookbook called “Eva's Kitchen: Cooking with Love for Family and Friends," and has her own fragrance, Eva by Eva Longoria. |

@James Barton, Eva Longoria's business ventures qualify for government subsidies in the form of grant monies that amount to a "cost-share" program under programs designed to advance the interests of Women-Owned Minority Businesses.
The purpose of this federally-funded program is to expand the representation, across business and trade fields, of both women, minorities, and the third, combined class of women-owned minority businesses. These businesses pay a lessor share of start-up costs, etc., but must maintain a certain percentage of staff composed from minority populations at all time, thus serving the community's need to employ that sector productively, teach them English as a second language, and promote diversity within the working community. This and other programs are federal grant programs administered through thr U.S. Dept. of Labor, if memory serves.
Yea I was surprised by what I saw at http://ratemusicart.blogspot.com/
@Noony – you correctly take @stu to task for criticizing @Papi's observation that she (apparently non-white) is "sick and tired of seeing all these caucasian faces on TV," as Papi is merely citing factual information; therefore the comment cannot be construed as racist, as it is neither threatening, degrading, or malicious.
That said, if a white person had cited a similar factual situation, the entire community, including the media frequently, come down upon him or her, despite the fact it is merely a factual statement. For example, in an eastern state last year, on a civil service exam, ten minority applicants who scored below 70 points were advanced in the hiring process over white applicants scoring 75 or more points due to affirmative action. One white man cited this fact in an interview and was publicly excoriated as a racist to the point of violence against his family. It seems, these days, racists only come in caucasian skin.
I would put sour cream on her taco and eat it all night long.
I'm just glad a latina is making it in hollywood.
Good For You Eva. I Wish You All The Success After Desperate Housewives And Now You Brand New CW Series.
@stu how is that racist? If all you saw on tv were Asians would you think it was racists?
Since Eve is doing so well why did her restuarant Beso in vegas only pay the companies that built it 67% of their contract and that's before it went bk?
not news.
I am proud of Ms. Eva. The Young and Restless did not want her, but Hollywood did/does. I am wishing you the best in all of your endeavors.
