The movie Spielberg would love to makeKnowing that Steven Spielberg is an executive producer on this winter's behind-the-Broadway-scenes drama "Smash," the filmmaker's dream of working on a musical movie makes sense. In fact, Spielberg tells CNN, he's been wanting to craft a musical for years. “I’d love to do an old-fashioned musical, where the characters talk to each other and then they sing to each other. I’m such a fan of the Hollywood musical, but I haven't found the right subject matter or the right book or the right music to throw myself into one of them. But someday I will."
Perhaps before we see a musical from Spielberg, though, we'll get another installment of "Jurassic Park." In June it was reported that Spielberg and screenwriter Mark Protosevich were mulling over a concept for a fourth installment of the franchise, and Spielberg promises that there will be one. "We are still working on the story for another 'Jurassic Park' film," he says, adding that he can't spill details yet. "But there is going to be one! You have to wait and see!" In the meantime, Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin," which star Jamie Bell has called "a beacon of excellence," opens December 21. |

A 4th Jurassic Park would be so great. I wonder if it'd be anything like this twitter account – twitter.com/jpintern
LOL! Reader 37 – that twitter account was hilarious!
Yeah! As a big Jurassic Park fan it's definitely one of my favorites!
Guest #6, your comment caught me off guard and now people on the train think I'm crazy because I'm laughing hysterically!
@veronica, Mel Brooks did more than a snippet. Check out one of the funniest movies of all time "The Producers" where a Hitler character sings "Springtime for Hitler in Germany".. Somehow, cause of Mel's genius, it worked very well.
Kill me. People singing to each other when they can just say it is complete torture. You're getting soft Spielberg. Two thumbs 'out'.
Completely incorrect username you've got there, dodo. How about "SmarterthanNo1"?
I agree.
He should do a musical about the Holocaust.
Mel Brooks did a musical snippet in History of the World Part I.
