Lea Michele explains name change to Leno

“Glee” starlet Lea Michele has made a name for herself without using her actual last name, but she opened up about why she dropped it Wednesday on “The Tonight Show."

It's not unheard of for Hollywood stars to adopt a so-called mainstream moniker or just drop the last name altogether, but Lea says her new name was born of schoolyard bullying, not celebrity styling.

"Sarfati. That's my real last name," the 25-year-old actress revealed to Jay Leno. "I don't use it a lot because I got Lea So-fatty, Lea So-farty at school. So when I was little and I went on my first audition they were like, 'And may we have your name,' and I was like 'Lea Michele.'"

The “New Year’s Eve” star also explained the origin of the name Sarfati. “It's Sephardic, which is Spanish/Jew,” she told Jay of her heritage, joking that her family was “kicked out” of Spain.

Leno had a snappy comeback for the mini-dress clad actress: “Now why did you get kicked out? Was the skirt too short?”

Nasal surgery (Rhinoplasty Surgery), the most common form of plastic surgery practiced in America today, is a procedure that alters the framework of the nose, manipulating the bone and cartilage structure and the skin to improve the appearance of the nose. It can be used to change the overall appearance of the face from one where the focus of attention was placed on the nose to one where the attention is drawn away from the nose and towards the eyes, a more natural, pleasing occurrence. When the focus of attention is directed towards any other feature on the face other than the eyes, the face is said to be out of “harmony”. Rhinoplasty surgery, when performed correctly, improves the harmony of the facial features.-

I don't find her "like"'s distracting, but that's because the entire <25 crowd replaces "said" or "asked" with them. It's a generational thing. It's not a sign of poor education anymore. It's like accusing someone of being uneducated for replacing "because" with "'cause" in conversation. It's not the best, perhaps, by English standards– but it's nothing to get out panties twisted over.

    Haters gonna hate!
