British director Tom Hooper is one man who can resist the lure of 3-D.
The "King's Speech" helmer told the BBC that although he lingered on the idea of using the technology for his adaptation of "Les Miserables," he's opting to keep the picture 2-D.
"I did test 3-D and I was very tempted - I think it is a very interesting form," Hooper said. And yet, he wasn't sure if it would help him create a movie that would "connect with everyone."
Those who thought Ryan Gosling was robbed of People magazine's 2011 "Sexiest Man" title will be happy to know that the actual recipient of the honor, Bradley Cooper, sort of gets it.
While visiting the U.K.'s "Graham Norton Show" last week, Cooper said he wasn't wholly comfortable with the title himself.
"I'm finally at an age - I'm 36 years old - where I really don't care about anything like that anymore, which is a wonderful thing. And then this happened, and I started to realize just how not sexy I am," he joked.
Though he’s helming “The Hobbit,” director Peter Jackson found some spare time to film a documentary about the West Memphis Three called “West of Memphis.” According to the Hollywood Reporter, the doc has wrapped.
Peter Jackson and co-producer Fran Walsh made the film as part of a campaign to exonerate the trio - Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley Jr. - and overturn what they call “one of the most infamous miscarriages of justice in American history.”
In 2005, Jackson and Walsh funded a new investigation into the convictions of Echols, Baldwin and Misskelley. In 1993, the men (then teenagers) were convicted of murdering three 8-year-old boys in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Blake Shelton didn't seem his usual, joking self at Monday's "American Country Awards," and viewers soon discovered why.
As he took the stage to collect one of two prizes for his music video, "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking," the 35-year-old country superstar gave a shout-out to his father, Dick.
"I just want to say 'Hi' to my dad back home," he told the audience at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. "He's been having a pretty rough couple of weeks, and I know he's watching tonight. I love you, Dad, and I dedicate this to you, man."
Many hold it as tradition to lock lips with someone when ringing in the new year, including "Glee" star Lea Michele.
And the newly single 25-year-old already has a plan in place. (Are we the only ones who can picture her "Glee" alter-ego Rachel Berry doing the exact same thing?)
“I'm a single girl, so I've brought in my best friend Jonathan [presumably, Groff] to give me my kiss on New Year's Eve," Michele told CNN Sunday.
