'X Factor' judges receive threats after Drew's dismissal?

Fans were not happy to see "X Factor" contestant Drew Ryniewicz go home last week, and they seem to be directing their ire at judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.

For example, commenter Mary wrote in on the "X Factor" recap Friday, "The judges need to be fired, e[s]pecially the girls. The whole show is a joke. Drew should have stayed. Nicole is...a fake, Paula is a ditz. I am so sick of her and will never watch this show again until she and Nicole are gone. Simon is the best entertainment ever."

It seems some are taking their dislike of the female half of "X Factor's" judges panel quite a few steps further - TMZ reports that Paula and Nicole received angry and violent threats via Twitter and Facebook, with at least one telling the two women to "go die."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Fox had no comment on the death threat reports.

Drew herself has said that she has no ill will toward Paula or Nicole.

"I don't feel anger against them," Drew said, according to THR. "I could see that it was hard for them to base it off the 'save me' song...But they both told me, 'Don't even worry about it, you're coming right back. You're going to be on this stage again next year for the finale."

The teen singer admits that she thinks it was her final song that did her in - "My 'save me' performance sucked," she said - but Drew is looking toward the future.

"Doing my last bit of press today. Shining on xfactor for the last time," she tweeted Friday. "I can't wait for what's to come of me. I'm young, got time."

I am so disappointed that Nicole choose to take the coward way out tonite. Rachel Crow was by far the better talent. What a crush to Rachel's ability, as there were others in the finals that can not hold a candle to her. What was Nicole thinking???? It is evident that she has such issue with Simon that she was the one who sent the BEST talent to the trash and I hope that it comes back to haunt her.

Drew forever sounds as though she's yawning. "Yawn"... I seriously just yawned. Anyway, Marcus Canty has the voice of a star, but it's up to our votes and he was in the bottom three trice, which means America doesn't really want to hear him, so bad choice judges. Drew is boring, Marcus can sing, but it's who America wants to hear as a recording artiste.

Drew was horrible. Sory to say that the song picked made her sound very unpleasant.

I'm 62 and have watched every episode of X Factor. I agree that Drew should not have been sent home. She's original, and a little like Taylor Swift. Simon should sign her to a deal and prove everyone wrong. Marcus Canty is appealing to the teeny bopper girls who do most of the voting.

I was very glad to see Drew go. At first, I was intrigued by her voice which is lovely and lilting, like a young Enya combined with Norah Jones. It is not her ability that makes me glad she is gone, but her immature behavior which to me is not so different from Astro's frustration. Arguing with LA? She is a CHILD, a teenager, who has no respect for the expertise and experience of the judges. That is offensive, even with her youth, and displayed a beligerence that is inappropriate in a young person. Simon may have created the monster that is Drew, and perhaps when she can have help and advice, she can have an opportunity to record that haunting voice. She did not perform well, Billie Jean was a weird choice for a young girl (didn't care for any of the Michael Jackson numbers chosen by any contestant, from the wealth of Michael's music legacy), and her performances were too similar each week. She may have a recording career ahead of her, but the dent she has made in her image is not a good start. 14 is young, as is Astro at 15. They are kids, they will make mistakes, but Drew's singing in the last performance week was not good enough to keep her in a show for a recording contract. Those mistakes largely belong to Simon. Paula and Nicole called it like they saw it and heard it. It's up to them, their decision, not ours. Our part is voting, and Drew was in the bottom 3 of votes. I wish her good luck with that fine voice, but will wait for her to grow up and show respect for those who have come before her, her peers, and the recording industry executive who was present, besides Simon.

COMPLETELY disagree with you! LA Reid had it out for her because she was a threat... If you LISTEN to the voices instead of judging people based on appearances it is obvious Drew was one of the best... Chris Renee... Seriously? Marcus? He will be gone within two weeks easily!

This show could have been great if it wasn't for Nicole and Paula, they ruined the show.... They need to be replaced for next season.. Nobody wants to watch 2 wannabes females judging raw talent, most of these kids are more talented that Nicole and Paula on a any given day... Let's get some real talent to judge these kids and not 2 mediocre artists...

Yes it is only a TV show, and no doubt contrived. I don't like that people can vote over and over (if you can get through, and if you are in the US) – I would prefer the DWTS method where the number of votes per person are limited. However, I loved Drew and hope to hear much more from her – I hope Simon gives her a recording contract. Very reminiscent of Sara McLaughlin – and I thought she nailed Billy Jean – it was brilliant – and I also thought her final song was great – much better than Marcus'. Both Paula and Nicloe have been very hard on the female contestants since the auditions, and have been catty and showed much favouritism, to say the least. As for LA Reid, well, if you don't rap, he has not much good to say. Drew always does the same thing?? Please...Astro has always done exactly the same week after week, and Chris is not much more versatile. Perhaps Drew should have done something more upbeat, but do you seriously expect a 14-year-old to stand up to Simon and his experience?? Simon knows what she is good at, and where her audience is (ie – me and the thousands who are so upset about her leaving the show). Please, Simon, get some new judges. A bit of controversy makes for good TV, but these ones give judging a bad name.

I believe people are more upset with the way Drew was voted off and not necessarily the fact that she was. They should've had enough class and let the decision go to the person with the least number of votes and not go out of their way to save Canty who undoubtedly had the lower number of votes, being that it was his third time in a row at the bottom.

I totally agree with you. Canty should have been the one gone or at least let the votes do the talking.
I have lost track of what this show is all about, is it who is the best contestant, or what judge can disrespect each other the best at the cost of the entertainer. the judges need to grow up and go back to making this show about the talent, and not whether ot not Simon is doing a better job and beating you.

There is certainly a good deal of blame that can be spread around for why Drew was eliminated on her first time in the bottom three – saving Marcus who was in that spot for the third time. I do agree that Paula has always seemed to favor the boys, looking at them with dreamy eyes as she praises them.

But I also think that in this case there was likely a good deal of pressure from the show's producers to save Marcus yet again, and send Drew packing. The reason being that with Astro already booted – sending home Marcus would have meant eliminating the two remaining African-American guys on the same night – and on Micheal Jackson week. That would have been a bit embarrassing for the show.

Paula and Nicole need to go. Paula's groups are gone because she picked the worst groups to stay with her. She chose the group of kids who were a copycat of the kids bop cd my daughter listens too, and those 2 brothers who were boring as hell over a few other groups who sounded 10 times better. Nicole is a complete idiot who has no clue what to say when asked to respond to a performance. She intentionally dislikes another contestants performance by reasons of "Im not diggin it",, when in fact they were great. She gets all but hurt when simon is honest about how bad her people performed.

Drew was awesome and unique. She reminded me of something between Amy Lee, Sara McLachlan and the Cranberries. Very much an artist. But I believe she was sent home not because of her, but because of Simon. You've seen this building up for a long time.

all well she got booted off. was tired of her yodeling voice anyway and she is 14 not like she doesnt have years ahead of her. she would not of won the whole thing anyway, so ppl need to grow up and get over it. only 1 person wins anyway. Drew's voice was the exact same every week. She has time to grow and prosper from all of this. ppl need to calm down. yeah nicole and paula do suck but come on making threats, lets be realistic here. I am glad Drew is gone. And American Idol sucks and is boring.

Drew wasn't as good as everyone is making her out to be. Simon never got this upset when someone like a Jennifer Hudson or Chris Daughtry was booted off American Idol. There are 4 judges for a reason. Nicole and Paula decided to save Marcus and I would have done the same. If this is supposed to be Simon's show then fire the 3 other judges, call it Simon's XFactor, and be done with it. While Drew does have more marketability over Marcus, her performances were consistently dull and boring and the same from week to week. Oh wait, wasn't it Simon who first let Melanie Amaro go but then decided (for ratings) to bring her back. Hmmm.

Simon knows Drew would be going sooner or later, they were both at he bottom but it was Drews first time and Paula and Nicole should of had more class and allow the votes to decide rather than trying to be politically correct.

i think it was just bad luck that paula got the groups because, in general, they tend to not do as well. i was looking at all the seasons of the UK x-factor and i think, at most, a group only won once, if at all. the thing about groups is, if they're not competely together vocally, it's more apparent to the viewers. plus if every member has to share the same amount of spotlight that solo contestants get, so it might be harder for viewers to remember or connect to groups.

People get so mad. Over what? Kids singing on stage?!? People want to hurt each other over a stupid contest. If Drew wins are you as a viewer going to also win 2 million dollars? Would Drew give you part of her winnings if you told her you voted for you? No!! So who cares who wins. Get mad at things that affect you.

Apparently the 'people' being mad about the kids onstage are also a bunch of kids venting online, the media calling the expression "go die" a death threat is a joke, it sounds more like a request than a threat.

The setup of the judges deciding who goes home is complete crap. Paula and Nicole don't want Simon to win - THAT'S why they sent Drew home. All of Paula's are gone, because she's an imbecile, and Nicole only has 1 contestant left, because she's also an imbecile. Simon is the best mentor and easily has the most talented group, so they're banding together AGAINST him. The problem is that they're hurting 14 year old kids along the way who DESERVE to still be on the show.
