Kutcher is 'just friends' with Lorene ScafariaWhen Ashton Kutcher calls someone a homie, he doesn't do it with romantic connotation. The recently separated 33-year-old actor, whose estranged wife Demi Moore announced her intent to divorce in November, raised eyebrows when he tweeted a photo of himself along with actress/writer/director Lorene Scafaria. The two weren't alone, as Kutcher's business partner Matt Mazznat was also in the image. Nonetheless, the rumor mill churned, and a rep for the star says there's no truth to the gossip that he's moved on from Moore with Scafaria. "They are just friends," the rep tells People magazine, adding that the pair are "working on a potential project together about an Italian soccer team." On the day after Christmas, Kutcher sent out the pic with the caption, "Roman holiday with homies. Have an amazing new year!" While you were getting ready for New Year's Eve...Today's news you might've missed:
Friday Top Five: Best New Year's Eve moviesThere is a film in theaters right now about nothing but various scenarios that all take place on New Year's Eve, but this isn't about that movie. Instead, we're going to look back at some flicks that have moments devoted to the spirit of December 31: wistful recollection of moments now past, anticipation for what the future holds, the sense of impending (and in one case, tragic) change and the urge to party like tomorrow's a holiday and you won't have to wake up for work. Take a look at our list, and leave your own favorites in the comments! 'Bachelor'/'Bachelorette' host: Clooney, Aniston should come onChris Harrison has picked up plenty of experience as a reality show host thanks to his duties on ABC's 'The Bachelor" and its spin-off, "The Bachelorette." “Initially I was hoping it would stay on the air for a few episodes because no one ever knows if something will resonate or not,” he told CNN. “But it has had this unbelievable run and has lasted a decade.” “The Bachelor” returns on January 2, and with it comes another season of drama, tears and surprises. Otherwise known as exactly what die-hard fans want. “Ben [Flajnik, the new 'Bachelor'] is great…It’s an amazing ride for our show and probably one of the best,” said Harrison. Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt duetZooey Deschanel is showing off her musical side in a seasonal duet with her former co-star and current pal Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The 31-year-old actress and JGL croon together on a rendition of Nancy Wilson's, "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" Russell Brand, Katy Perry end marriageAfter a little more than a year of matrimony, Russell Brand and Katy Perry are splitting up. E! exec explains Kardashian appealThe E! channel has become nearly synonymous with the Kardashians, having now hosted the original "Keeping Up With..." program and the subsequent spin-offs, including the ill-fated matrimony special of middle Kardashian Kim. Many have questioned - including Barbara Walters - how viewers could be so riveted to the antics of E!'s reality family, especially considering they're not displaying a particular talent. (The Kardashians themselves consider being able to live out their lives in a fashion that appeals to so many to be a talent in itself.) The president of the E! channel, Suzanne Kolb, has another answer as to why the Kardashians are such mainstays. Gwyneth Paltrow's tips for your New Year's hangoverGwyneth Paltrow has posted a helpful New Year’s Eve-themed newsletter on her GOOP website. The Oscar-winning actress and domestic diva has laid out multiple options for those who plan to enjoy adult beverages on Saturday night. Some suggestions are more practical than others. Let’s run through them: Water, of course, is the first thing mentioned. Alcohol dehydrates, as we know. "It is thus essential to drink a lot of water while drinking and before you go to bed... it can prevent a hangover or at least lessen one,” says Dr. Frank Lipman. Mitt Romney: Big Bird needs adsRepublican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney told supporters in Iowa Wednesday about his plan to shut down funding for programs like PBS. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Romney laid out intentions to "stop certain programs" and include advertisements on the children’s show “Sesame Street.” "Close them. Turn 'em off. Even some you like," he said of his plan. |
