New Nicki Minaj album drops on Valentine's DayNicki Minaj has a release date for her sophomore album. MTV News reports that “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” will drop on February 14, 2012. How romantic! Fresh off two wins at the 2011 American Music Awards, the rapper tweeted the album news to her 7 million followers earlier this week as fans celebrated the anniversary of her 2010 debut, "Pink Friday." Although the title of “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” could suggest that it's some sort of re-release, 28-year-old Minaj tweeted confirmation that it’s “ALL new tracks.”
Her sophomore effort will also feature one of her alter-egos, Roman Zolanski, who appeared on the rapper's debut. "Heeeee's baaaacccckkkkk," she posted. "And he's in rare form." Minaj hinted about Roman’s inclusion in the album back in August. "I don't know, I don't think I'm hitting up anybody for features for this sophomore album," she told MTV backstage at a stop on Britney Spears' Femme Fatale tour. "Roman ... possibly. But I never give away all my secrets." Before she releases "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," Minaj will be honored as Billboard's "Rising Star" of 2011 at the Billboard Women in Music Event in New York on December 2. She follows previous "Rising Stars" Jazmine Sullivan (2010); Lady Gaga (2009); and Colbie Caillat (2008). Billboard's editorial director Bill Werde said Minaj "has established herself as a force in hip-hop and pop music...Her unique style and powerful sound will undoubtedly lead to a long and lustrous career, and we look forward to seeing where she goes and what she does next."
