Two years after their lauded debut, The xx are planning their highly anticipated second album.
The band made the announcement of their forthcoming record on the Web, and shared a link to a blog they created to post music that inspires them.
The music blog world is buzzing over the news, with some speculating that the album may even be inspired by deep house music.
The xx began as high school friends, exchanging lyrics over instant messenger late at night and recording their first album in a small room serving as a studio.
They signed with The Young Turks and went on an international tour. Their song “Intro” made its way into a national ad campaign in the U.S. for AT&T during the winter Olympics in 2010.
Before they knew it, The xx were snapping up accolades, including the highly coveted UK Mercury Prize for their initial offering.
