According to the new issue of British Elle, Michelle Williams has a good reason for keeping her pixie hairstyle. The actress seems to suggest to the magazine that her cropped cut is a memorial of her ex, the late Heath Ledger, according to the U.K.'s Telegraph.
The “My Week With Marilyn” star graces the cover of British Elle's December issue, and spills on her signature style and the sentimental reason behind it.
“I've really grown into it - I feel like myself with short hair,” Michelle says of her blonde pixie. “And it's been a really long time since I had long hair, five years.”
Williams, 31, says she realizes that heterosexual guys generally prefer her with longer hair (as does her six year-old daughter Matilda), but that doesn’t faze her. "Straight men across the board are not into this hair!" she says.
Despite the pixie’s unpopularity with potential paramours, Michelle insinuates that her hair is a tribute to her daughter’s dad, Heath Ledger, who passed away in 2008.
"I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it," she shares.
