Kris Jenner: Kim's marriage wasn't a shamRight after her daughter Kim wrote an open letter to her fans saying she married Kris Humphries for love, not money, mom Kris Jenner went on the "Today" show to confirm that her daughter's 72-day marriage was real. "It certainly wasn't a sham, [and it] certainly wasn't for TV. We have enough going on on our show that we don't have to make things up," she told Ann Curry Wednesday. "[Kim] felt that she was in love with him. It was an amazing time...I had no idea there was a problem at the time. It saddens all of us." Kris Jenner also denies that the rights to Kim's marriage were purchased by E! for a rumored $17 million. "Not true," she says. "We profited, or she profited from the wedding? Absolutely false." OK, there's a clarification:
They didn't make $20 million, but "they made some money for the pictures that were sold and things like that," Jenner went on, noting that those were purchased for "less than a million, and probably more than half a million dollars, and all of that went into the wedding." "At the end of the day, that money went towards [paying for] the wedding and Kim had to pay a great deal of money for the balance that was owed for the wedding," she says. In other words, Kris says her daughter paid for the wedding without gaining a profit. "We don't sell television rights," she continued. "We were all paid to do our television show just like every other episode." Jenner adds in the interview that she doesn't know who will keep the 20.5 carat ring, and that while she doesn't know its exact cost, it's worth less than the $2 million that's been reported. As far as those lavish gifts that were requested by Kim and her now estranged husband, mom Kris says that she knows Kim plans on "making very generous contributions to a really deserving charity when she gets home [from Australia] and trying to make that right because she feels really bad about that." Like Kim, Kris has no regrets about her family's ups and downs being on TV. "I don't have any regrets, because this is what we do. We have people who have invested in our lives from day one, season one. I feel so blessed and grateful for the TV show." |

Kris is absolutely correct – Kim's marriage was not a shame in the least, Kim's entire life is a sham, the marriage was only one chapter of it, not the whole book.

I am soooooo sick and tired of turning on my tv (Comcast) and flipping through channels and ALL i see is nothing but some sort of a reality show. Hoping someone will develop a cable company that you can pick whatever channel you are interested in.I know reality may be a cheap alternative to sitcoms but it is EVERYWHERE and if it continuous i think I may have to just get rid of it all.......Sick and tired of it I tell ya!!!!!!!!!
i had an idea of making a cable company that doesnt advertise to you for 40 percent of your viewing if we pay for cable why is it that we are paying for commercials to its b.s cable should be what you want to watch only you should be able to select only 3 channels if thats all you watch and be charged only for three chanels

Hm. I haven't watched the show, but I have seen the "news" about every twist and turn that Kris and Kim have made. Unfortunately, I cannot avoid the "news" for it is in (almost) every paper I see. I have been married to a wonderful man for almost two years now and he and I only knew one another for seven months before getting married. If our marriage can last, then why coudn't theirs?? In my line of work, if you're married for anything less than or equal to a year, the marriage and your relationship was a sham. In the same sense, that also applies to the "real world." I have no clue what Kim and her mother thought to gain from Kris and the Media, but they're completely happy right about now. They have all the attention they want.
Furthermore, the Kardashians need to get off of the screen. I have NO IDEA how they became famous or why and I do not particularly care. They've had their debut and no one liked what they saw. The entire family is a wreck from top to bottom and, when things arise (i.e. Kim and Kris' marriage), we are reminded of how plastic and demented the Kardashians really are. Mrs. Jenner, we do not believe one word you or your daughter have said. Both of you are full of lies, deceit, lust, shame, guilt, greed, covetedness, etc and we (especially me) want nothing of you, your family, or your show.
Want to make them go away? Then watch the show and note who sponsors it. Inform te sponsors you will no longer buy their products (and actually stop using their products) until they stop supporting this trash.

When a million isn't enough you have really been played. And he gets nothing out the deal. She's not going to be the first. and i have been married for 43 years. We have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. We married right out of
high school. I worked two jobs while he went to school fulltime. As soon as he was finished I started school
fulltime. After we bought our first home we started our family. Each of our children graduated from college and lead productive and happy lives. Like my husband and I they married for love. I do not consider myself better than my whilte or black friends, nor does my husband. We encouraged each other to be ourselves and to live and love honestly. We have had our share of disagreements over the years, mostly about who can control the remote or how many football games does one have to watch on a Sunday
ie, internet, telephone service, and malls big enough to hold a DASH store. One does not have to live in CA to be
successful or run a business. The point of being a "brand" is that can be identified with no matter where you are. I think raising children in the land of 1000 lakes would be a smart move. Kim H, they do have airports in MN. Kris H. it may hurt now but trust me it will get better. Unfortunately your life is now in the spot light for better or for worse. Cut your loses and consider yourself lucky that you did not have any children in this union.

Ive never once watched this show and until last week I could blissfully ignore anything Kardashian. But now its everywhere- even on CNN and NPR for god's sakes. There isnt any outlet that doesnt have Kardashian taint on it. They are the top story and they're probably laughing all the way to the bank.

BS, BS, BS! I have nothing against K Kardashian. Not sure what the fascination is, but she's smart enough to make money ... for what I don't know, but whatever it is, the public is buying it. That said, there is NO WAY, she or anyone in that family could have thought it would last. I gave it a year at most, but 72 days even surprised me. My reasoning is this: Neither one of them needed each other ... love ... i doubt it. Lust maybe. She also doesn't want to be shown up by her sister who married an NBA player. They too will divorce, but that's a different story. Two people especially high profilers cannot think they have a chance unless one of them is willing to give up something. That's just how it works. He appeared too young and immature and she seemed to want a fancy wedding with no thought of how they were going to make marriage work. I don't feel sorry for either of them. Both will continue to make money and neither will have suffered any ill affects. Thank goodness there were no kids! K Kardashian is not meant to marry ... only to date/sleep with rich athletes and when their time in the sun is over, move the next one ... as long as the attention if on her. Grateful for the tv show? Be grateful to Ryan Seacrest. Be grateful to Kim for boning RayJ. Without them there would be no cash cow tv show. Actually, if you look at divorce statistics, the southeast and appalachia (red state bible belt) have the highest divorce rates. Oddly enough, the northeast (blue state liberal, and legal gay marriage) has the lowest divorce rates. Looks like the conservative heterosezxuals are the biggest threat to traditional marriage.
