A “Dumb And Dumber” sequel might be the Farrelly brothers’ next project, Deadline reports. And yes, they would employ the original cast!
Writers have already been hired to script the film, and now that “Dumb and Dumber” directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly have wrapped “The Three Stooges,” another Harry and Lloyd adventure may be next on their list.
If you lived under a rock during the ‘90s, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels starred in 1994 hit “Dumb and Dumber” as dimwitted pals Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne.
While promoting “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” in June, Carrey hinted at a “Dumber” sequel. New York Magazine’s Vulture reported that the actor mentioned "returning to some old characters that everyone has been asking about." To be specific, "we’re talking about maybe another ‘Dumb and Dumber.’”
And according to Movieline, Bobby Farrelly has also mentioned making the movie: "If we could get those two guys back together, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, that might be a worthwhile sequel — and that ball is in motion.”
Hopefully, Carrey and Daniels can make us forget about New Line’s terrible 2003 prequel, “Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd.”
“The Three Stooges” hits theaters April 4, 2012.
