Ahead of the curve: Weekly pop culture calendar

Last week “Psych” fans tuned in to the season 6 premiere to watch Shawn and Gus up to their old antics and were not disappointed. The boys are indeed back!

On the next episode, Shawn, Gus, Lassiter and Woody wake up with no memories, “Hangover”-style, and have to piece together the events to figure out what happened. Check out the episode this Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on USA.

Here's what else you shouldn't miss this week:

Sunday

  • "The Walking Dead" finally returns. Season 2 begins tonight at 9 p.m. on AMC.
  • And don't forget, Johnny Depp's interview with Larry King airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET.

Monday

  • “The Sing-Off” is down to the top 10 groups, and at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, the groups will perform guilty-pleasure songs.
  • Michael J. Fox will be on “The Late Show with David Letterman” at 11:35 p.m. on CBS, and Nathan Fillion will be on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” at 12 a.m. on ABC.

Tuesday

  • It' s an hour of men on ABC: Following Tim Allen's "Last Man Standing" is the new series, "Man Up!," premiering at 8:30 p.m. ET.
  • Cee Lo Green will make a cameo on NBC's “Parenthood” at 10 p.m. as Adam and Crosby try to impress him with their new studio.
  • “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” sails onto DVD and Blu-ray today.
  • Today also marks the arrival of Colson Whitehead's latest, "Zone One," which envisions life in NYC after the zombies have their way with the city.

Wednesday

  • Wonder what exactly happened during Amy’s birth in “Up All Night”? You can take a look back in this week’s episode at 8 p.m. ET on NBC where Chris starts to struggle with the idea of leaving the law firm.
  • "Pretty Little Liars" returns for a Halloween special on ABC Family tonight at 8 p.m. ET.

Friday

  • As if you need another reminder, what with all the miniature candy bars filling store shelves, Halloween is right around the corner. You can get a scare this weekend with "Paranormal Activity 3," or perhaps get some costume ideas from “The Three Musketeers,” starring Luke Evans, Milla Jovovich and Logan Lerman.

I love Psych. It's one of my favorite shows of all time. The cast and crew have managed to put together a show that is always wonderfully entertaining. Congratulations to them on their sixth season.
