'Daily Show' star Aasif Mandvi sells series to CBSAasif Mandvi earns loads of laughs on “The Daily Show,” so it makes sense that the actor/comedian would be given his own show. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mandvi is writing a comedy script for CBS, which the actor would star in as a divorced marriage counselor. The “Daily Show” correspondent will dole out relationship advice on the comedy series… if it gets picked up. CBS has bought the rights to the untitled show, and a pilot is in the works, but the series is still in the early stages. Mandvi, 45, has contributed to “The Daily Show” since 2006, and has appeared in numerous movies and TV shows, including “Die Hard with a Vengeance,” “Law & Order,” “Sex and the City” and “The Last Airbender.” This year, he appeared in Taco Bell commercials. In addition to the new TV series, the actor has two movies out in 2012: “Premium Rush,” and “Movie 43.” Busy guy! |

A divorced marriage counselor....I love it.
45? I thought he was like 30 in those Taco Bell commercials...
He's FORTY-FIVE!?
Talented guy, but if this flies, he'll probably leave the Daily Show.
