'Resident Evil' background actors injured on setCNN can confirm that eleven background actors were hospitalized after an accident on the Toronto set of Sony/Screen Gems’ “Resident Evil: Retribution” Tuesday. The actors were filming when they fell through a gap created when a four-foot high platform separated from the set at Cinespace Film Studios. According to Deadline, the 16 people who were injured in total were in costume as zombies. “It is with regret that we confirm this unfortunate accident,” Davis Films/Impact Pictures and Constantin Film International said in a statement to CNN. “The thoughts of everyone involved in the production are with those who have been injured, and we hope that all have a quick and complete recovery. The filmmakers are continuing to work closely with the authorities in responding to this accident.”
The film companies report that "one background actor suffered a cracked rib, one a stress fracture of the tibia and one a possible back injury." They note that none of the injuries were life-threatening. “Seven of the injured have already returned to the set.” The movie’s star Milla Jovovich has been visiting one particular zombie extra at a Toronto hospital. "I promised her that I would come and see her every week while I'm here to give her support and strength in her recovery,” the actress tweeted Tuesday of actor April, who she reports is “in a lot of pain” with a back injury. “I can't believe she said she wants to come back and finish her part, she's incredible." Thursday morning, Jovovich gave an update on April: "She is on pain meds and staying in bed at the best fracture/injury hospital in toronto. She txted me yesterday to say that she was feeling stronger and wanted to recover quickly for her family and friends! She's so amazing!" She has also thanked fans "for all your kind messages for our sweet, amazing zombie extras! We couldn't make these films [without] their hard work and enthusiasm." “Resident Evil: Retribution” is the fifth movie based on the video game, and is slated to hit theaters September 14, 2012. |

Seriously? I was a fan of the first 2, maybe three. But come on, this is worse than the Die Hard sequel they are making. At least that takes place in a 'real world'. You can only stretch your imagination for so many times. Not to mention the Res Evil plots have become non-existant. Actually, they are all the same...dodge the HoneyComb and kill the Zombies...cut to the ending which is a hint of another sequel.
Did anyone consider what it must have looked like to watch a batch of zombies show up in the ER?
U typhon*mr ed* are one twisted f Go get layed would u

Are people still willing to pay to see a Resident Evil movie? The ones I saw were kind of entertaining in a B-movie sort of way: kind of fun but really bad.
Hmm.. maybe that's a sign that they should maybe stop making RE movies? I'm surprised they have lasted this long. It's a wonder that Street Fighter spit out a second movie. Tomb Raider managed to get a sequel too. (Even though it's one of the better movies.)
@missy stfu you pathetic b!tch
I was injured when I heard they were making another "Resident Evil" movie.
OK HOLD ON EVERYBODY!! I heard that they were eating each others doo doo before the filming started. One of the girls got so excited eating Mila's doo doo crunch and she kicked her leg in the air and everybody fell on the floor in s slippery doookie mess
Get some help.
I heard about this on the news. They said the medical personnel had a hard time diagnosing their injuries, due to the makeup & costumes that they were wearing. I guess that would create a challenge! Good day, everyone!
Plus her head looks too big for her body. It looks like a dooodooohead.
I would throw it in Milla.
Wasnt she engaged to Parker Posey or something?
You humans are all racist against us zombies. We are people too.
Milla is hot! Wait, what was this article about again?
Yeah but they were zombies. I bet they were trying to get at some humans and eat them. It was dumb to rescue zombies! ! !
