Lars von Trier investigated for calling himself a Nazi

Danish film director Lars von Trier was kicked out of the Cannes Film Festival in May over comments he made about Nazis, and it looks like he's still in trouble for the statements.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the director says he’s been questioned about the incident; French authorities are investigating to see if the remarks are in violation of a French law against justification of war crimes.

Because of the comment kerfuffle, von Trier, 55, says he’s never making a public statement again – ever. He first had to make a statement regarding the investigation Wednesday, though, and he said that it would be his last.

Ed O'Neill delivered another Emmy-worthy (and needless to say, MVP worthy) performance on Wednesday night's episode of "Modern Family." It was great that he got recognized with a nomination earlier this year, and also excellent that Ty Burrell won that award, but come on! O'Neill should get his due. Here's hoping for next year.

OK, climbing down off my soapbox now. That was all to say that Jay trying to teach the value of a hard day's work to Manny by selling door to door was one of the strongest Delgado-Pritchett plotlines in a while. Manny's line, "You'll never go broke playing into a rich guy's ego. Write that down," was especially golden.

Hope Solo strips down for ESPN's 'Body Issue'

Soccer champ and "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Hope Solo is showing what she's made of on the cover of ESPN's "The Body Issue."

Solo's image is one of four covers that also highlight Clippers forward Blake Griffin, Mets player Jose Reyes and pro snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, and it shows off the frame that the athlete says she's only recently come to appreciate.

“Growing up, I felt insecure about my build. Guys would say,‘Look at those muscles! You can kick my ass!’ I didn’t feel feminine," she tells ESPN the magazine in its November issue.

Olsen twins' $39,000 backpack sells out

Apparently backpacks are back in style, but don’t think you can just dust off your old Jansport.

Women’s Wear Daily reports that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are struggling to meet demand for a $39,000 alligator backpack from their luxury fashion line, The Row.

The outrageously expensive backpack was "the first thing that sold off the shelf," Ashley said at the Paris launch of the twins’ new handbag collection on September 30.
