Dane Cook sitcom in development

Another comedian is moving to network TV: Dane Cook is set to develop and star in his own NBC comedy, Deadline reports.

The sitcom is slated for next fall, and is in line with the new spate of primetime programming featuring stand-up comics. Sarah Silverman is also working on a show for NBC, plus we have new sitcom “Whitney” (featuring Whitney Cummings) and Chelsea Handler’s mid-season replacement “Are You There Vodka, It's Me Chelsea.”

Last month, Cook, 39, prepped for his TV foray with a guest stint on “Louie,” comedian Louis C.K.’s FX series. The episode addressed Dane’s alleged (real life) joke thievery.

The actor also appeared on “Hawaii Five-O” in February.

But Cook’s new TV endeavor doesn’t mean he’s retired from movies. You can catch him in upcoming flicks “Answers to Nothing,” “Detention” and “Guns, Girls & Gambling.”

Dane Cook, about as funny as leprosy. Glad his crap isn't gonna be on a TV weekly sitcom. He just sucks. People who laugh at his stolen material are morons.

Dane Cook's target audience doesn't even watch TV. Hasn't NBC learned from his movie "career"? They don't make money therefore no one will watch this show. They are all on the internet or Facebook. It will probably be about how big his head is for his body and how much he loves himself.

Cook sucks. Can't even do his own material. Seen part of one show he did and it looked as if he was having a stroke on stage. His show will be canceled after a few episodes.

He's not funny when he does the material he rips off from other comedians, why would he be funny in something he actually develops himself?

It's too bad they pick big name comics to develop shows instead of legitimately talented ones.

Oh my, is he attempting to channel Ronnie James Dio? As a punishment for such a blasphemy Mr Cook should have numerous burnt weiners shoved up his butt and down his throat.
