A strong quickstep and praise from the judges weren't enough to keep Elisabetta Canalis around on "Dancing With the Stars."
The Italian actress, best known in the United States for being George Clooney's ex-girlfriend, was the second contestant eliminated from the ABC competition last night.
Canalis was left in the bottom three with David Arquette and Chaz Bono, both of whom scored lower than Canalis after Monday's competition. But Canalis may have been hurt by lack of name recognition, as well as memories of her disappointing cha-cha from last week.
Nevertheless, Canalis was pleased with her run on the show.
"It was a great adventure," Canalis told the crowd after her elimination. "I want to thank everybody, especially those who voted for me."
HLN's Nancy Grace breathed a huge sigh of relief when she learned she was safe. She admitted last week that she was no fan of having to wait until the end of the show to learn about her fate.
Grace and the nine remaining celebrities will now prepare for next week's dance, which involves the stars expressing the most memorable year of their lives.
What did you think of last night's "Dancing With the Stars" episode? Did America get it right by eliminating Canalis?
