The new boss of 'The Office' revealed

[Editor's Note: This post contains spoilers from the September 22 premiere of "The Office."]

Thursday night's season premiere of "The Office" wasted little time in answering the question on everyone's mind: Who is replacing Michael Scott as the regional manager of Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch?

The answer is Robert California. Except as Jim explained, he took one look around the office and drove down to see Jo Bennett to convince her to give him her job as CEO.

Intriguing concept carries 'Person of Interest'

What if, say, Bill Gates or Steve Jobs were hired by the government to create the technology to monitor all of the security cameras everywhere in the country? That's part of the concept of "Person of Interest," which premiered on Thursday night.

A big weapon in the series' arsenal is the actor playing software genius Finch, "Lost's" Michael Emerson. He could make reading the phone book scintillating.

When Finch bails a homeless man out of jail, who turns out to be a former CIA operative named John Reese, to look into disturbing patterns of behavior he spots on the security cameras, that's where the show quickly gets moving.
