Mitch Winehouse: Amy hadn't done drugs in three years

Anderson Cooper snagged an interview with the parents of the late Amy Winehouse, Mitch and Janis, for today's premiere of his new daytime TV show, "Anderson."

In the interview, Mitch informs the silver-haired host that he thinks it wasn't drugs that took the life of his 27-year-old daughter in late July.

"Everybody knows I've been banging on about the fact that she hasn’t taken drugs in three years," he tells Cooper. "Everyone thought I was in denial, I wasn’t in denial, she hadn't taken drugs. Her problem was alcohol, the last few years of her life."

Shocking 'True Blood' finale full of tricks and treats

[Editor's Note: If you haven't watched the finale, look out below. This post contains spoilers for the September 11 episode of HBO’s “True Blood."]

Confession: Because last night’s finale was infinitely better than last season’s disappointing end, half my notes were written in all caps and peppered with four letter words. Help yourself to some of Maxine’s pork rind casserole, ‘cause we’ve got a lot of ground to cover.

We joined Jesus and Lafayette (and Marnie, sort of) at a scene familiar to pretty much every couple at one point or another: The Awkward Brunch where stony silence with a side of home fries is the only item on the menu.

Jesus apologized to Lafayette for everything that had transpired during their time with the coven. "LaMarnie" took this as an opportunity to voice her displeasure at Jesus’ forcibly casting Antonia out and she stabbed him in the hand with a fork and took him prisoner.

'Spartacus' star Andy Whitfield dead at 39

"Spartacus" actor Andy Whitfield has died, CNN has confirmed. Fans of Starz Entertainment's original drama "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" know Whitfield as the titular gladiator.

According to the New York Times, the 39-year-old passed away on Sunday in Sydney, Australia from non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Whitfield leaves behind his wife, Vashti, two children, and a sister.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Andy Whitfield,” said Starz President and CEO Chris Albrecht in a statement.
