HBO buys Aaron Sorkin's new showHBO has ordered a new series about cable news from Academy Award-winning screenwriter and producer Aaron Sorkin, the network confirms. (HBO is owned by the same parent company as CNN.) “West Wing” creator Sorkin is listed as executive producer and pilot writer on the show, tentatively titled “More As This Story Develops.” The drama revolves around a cable news anchor (Jeff Daniels!) who strives for ethical journalism despite the state of modern-day media.
His newsroom staff will be played by Alison Pill, John Gallagher, Jr., Olivia Munn, Dev Patel and Thomas Sadoski. Emily Mortimer and Sam Waterson round out the cast as his producer and his boss, respectively. “Together they set out on a patriotic and quixotic mission to do the news well in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles and their own personal entanglements,” reads a press release. Sounds promising!

aaron sorkin is a genius. HBO is smart . we are lucky
Alison Pill is a good actress. Sounds like an interesting show.
God, I was bored just spending 30 seconds reading the description. I'd kill myself if I had to watch an hour of this tripe.
Sounds like a dumb show, I would wipe myself with the script and flush it.
Calling something dumb, and then saying something dumb right after it kinda invalidates your opinion.
Actually sounds kinda interesting. Too bad I'd never pay for HBO.
This sounds like a really great show that will get exactly one season.
