It's been rumored that “Bachelorette” fan favorite Ben Flajnik was to be the next “Bachelor," and now ABC has confirmed the reports.
Businessman Flajnik (pronounced Flannick), 28, will search for true love again in the next edition of ABC's hit reality series.
On last season’s finale of “The Bachelorette,” Ben proposed to Ashley Hebert but was rejected - although he did gain the sympathy of millions of viewers.
The network notes that Flajnik has been in love three times, with Ashley being the third lucky lady. Despite his “Bachelorette” rejection, Ben is ready to get back in the saddle and search for the woman of his dreams on reality television.
According to ABC, the Sonoma winemaker is a “rare, modern Renaissance man” who enjoys many hobbies and crafts, including crab fishing, singing in a tribute band, and landscaping.
Flajnik attended the University of Arizona, where he majored in music production, but moved home to Northern California after graduation. Ben is close with his mom and sister (sadly, dad passed in 2007) and shares his home with a Jack Russell Terrier named Scotch.
“The Bachelor” returns to ABC in January 2012, but you can catch Ben's first public appearance as the new “Bachelor” during the season finale of "Bachelor Pad," Monday, September 12.
What do you think of the network’s new “Bachelor”? Will you tune in for Ben?
