Bravo star Bethenny Frankel’s Skinnygirl cocktail line has been pulled from Whole Foods, according to Access Hollywood.
Apparently the ingredients aren't "all natural," like the bottle claims. Jill Zarin must be having a field day with this.
"After discovering that [Skinnygirl Margarita] contains a preservative that does not meet our quality standards, we have had to stop selling it," said the natural and organic grocery chain in a statement.
Frankel’s cocktail line is comprised of low-fat, pre-mixed drinks that the reality star touts as full of “natural flavors.” And the website says "no preservatives," but a rep from Skinnygirl told TMZ, "Skinnygirl Margarita contains very low levels of sodium benzoate (a preservative) so it can stay on the shelves."
"We understand their [Whole Foods] position and we respect that," the Skinnygirl rep told TMZ.
As for Frankel, she tells Access Hollywood, "I'm not making wheatgrass here. If I could put an agave plant and some limes on a shelf I would. [The Skinnygirl Margarita] is as close to nature as possible, while still being a shelf-stable product. ... We were bound to piss someone off and everyone loves to try to tear down a success. This is a non-event. I haven’t lost even a wink of sleep.”
Frankel recently sold her Skinnygirl empire for a reported $120 million.
Rebutting the principle objections point by point, Draghi said, based on a gap statement released by the ECB: First, OMT s is not going to cause disguised financing of governments my website without timely repayment in the financed purchase amount, the credit standing from the automobile owner will plummet, eventually causing severe difficulties for that individual and their credit score.

Hi there! I was curious to

One thing I would really like to say is the fact car insurance termination is a hated experience and if you're doing the right things as being a driver you simply won't get one. A number of people do are sent the notice that they have been officially dropped by their insurance company they then have to scramble to get supplemental insurance after the cancellation. Inexpensive auto insurance rates are often hard to get from cancellation. Having the main reasons pertaining to auto insurance termination can help individuals prevent sacrificing one of the most vital privileges accessible. Thanks for the tips shared through your blog.

totally weird this would happen because lots of whole foods body care products contain sodium benzoate
my wife threw Skinny Girl out. Tasted terrible!!!!
Skott, yeah they do wrongly present themselves as a healthfood store if they claim they can't bear to sell this drink because of one preservative...yet look around the aisles. What a joke.
Yuppies can keep their overpriced hippie store and leatherface can keep her fancy swill
That face sure is all natural
She had an eating disorder. She's banking on anorexia. What a sell out. That's horrible. She doesn't help the way women view their bodies. Shame on her.
Whole Foods sells many products that are not "all natural". Many of their products include MSG under hidden names. They deny this, however those of us with allergies know better. If you want "all natural" grow it and make it yourself.
Who cares? Really? Is this really news? Tired of seeing these housewives make the news, they are so self-important.
I'm w/ you Toastie......that would be great!
She looks like she hasn't eaten recently... Please, please, eat Bethany!!
Thanks Bethenny for following FDA guielines, because when I buy Skinney Girl Margarita's I usually buy in on special and I buy cases of it and save it and store it for my next party. I guess I won't be buying it at Whole Foods anymore, their loss. Thanks for thinking of everything when you made Skinney Girl Margarita's and now I know I don't have to worry about spoilage because you have our backs. Skinney Girl Margarita is not only convenient, low in calories but it has a long shelve life and I don't even have to take out my blender anymore. Yeah a toast to Bethenny when I drink my
next Skinney Girl Margarita!!!!!!
I'd rather drink a real Margarita once in a great while, than have a low calorie alternative often.
proud of Bethenny for making it big, you go girl. the definition of natural is ?????? how come wholefoods didn't read the label in the first place.
Kudos to Whole Foods to sticking to their way of doing business! I love Whole Foods and feel good knowing the products I buy there aren't filled with preservatives.
Is somebody at c nn phucking this piece of trash and thats why she is on the front page of the pulse?
That skinny broad needs a few ham sandwiches!!
BF shouldn't smile...she has had so much work done that those lines around her mouth look like apostrophes!
Still drinking it!
im glad Bethenny Frankel didnt miss a wink of sleep over this ...lots of haters out there... you go girl i really dont understand why people get online and say nasty things about people they dont even know ..really sad ...loved the show btw ..funny how they mentioned Jill Zarin in the article
Before I read the article, I thought maybe Whole Foods pulled the line because they had second thoughts about equating skinny and anorexic with "health." Silly me. Somebody feed that woman, please.
It's an entertainment article. Posting about a reality star's product being pulled from the shelves and scoping out our comments...yeah it's entertainment.
Sure the subject is business related, but the bottom line is that we're all getting a laugh from some of these posts.
And if I may clarify my earlier post: I'm not generalizing about all Canadians as I'm very fond of Canada and her people. I was responding to the individual who was insulting Americans. I'm tired of opportunists jumping on the "I Hate America" bandwagon. Makes me SICK.
That's right North America...class all the way, baby! :)
It's booze for heaven's sake...alcohol isn't "natural"...give me a break
Judging by the comments, I'm not alone in asking who this nitwit is. Did she get voted off The Bachelor or something? I don't know what is worse, CNN continuing to post stories about people no one has heard of or the fact that someone gave her $120 million for a company no one has heard of. The only thing I'd buy from this "Leatherface", is a chainsaw.
So will WF stop selling apples, plums, cranberries, cinnamon, cloves, and vinegar now? Or is the sodium benzoate in those okay, because it's "natural?"
Whole Foods actually does carry a shelf-stable natural margarita mix. Stirrings brand, so suck it Skinnygirl!
Yikes! If the ingredients are as fake as her face is, I say pull that crap off the shelves. Besides, we don't need another flash in the pan "celebrity" exploiting her 15 minutes of fame for further enrichment.
Why don't they just call it Anorexia?
Maybe for the same reason all overweight people are not called "obese"!
again. the fat and old used up hags are the haters of this pretty young woman. its a givin. if it makes you feel better to slam her then go. just know when your in front of the mirror you could only wish to look like her.
Ummm, there is no flesh on this person's neck and the cords of her tendons are sticking out. This is attractive?
These things are always manufactured news events by the company involved. I doubt Whole Foods wanted to create $3-million dollars in free worldwide advertising for the liquor company. Whole Foods probably quietly just stopped putting in orders and closed their account. It was the Anorexic Girl corporation who put out the press release of the product pull in order to get $3-million dollars in front page, web headline coverage. Whole Foods could care less about Anorexic's public image but the liquor maker wanted to milk it with headline photos like those done above on wire services. It worked and once again its how you work the media that matters. The media is a cattle car full of cows and you just need to learn how to milk it to your advantage.
And if she were modeling something, all you guys would want to do her, and all you woman would want to be her.
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little...
I think I threw up to.This freak is a PETArd.You know one of those radical animal rights wackoos.
Just why is this "Entertainment"? The truth is that a product that Whole Foods was selling is now removed. Bethenny Frankel, former owner, should not be the subject of this story. Where does it say who the CURRENT owner is? And to all those who think their negative comments will hurt Bethenny-she is laughing at you all the way to the bank with her millions $. :) :) :)
Is it me, or does she look like something I dissected in High School biology?
she reminds me of zelda from pet sematary http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tp-lh_AVkwk/TbKhYVY4kdI/AAAAAAAAI3Y/t5XmICE5OlM/s1600/pet-sematary-zelda.jpg
It has very little flavor and very little alcohol. I'm sure they have been in want of a reason to get out whatever obligation they had and now they have it. Although, I think "it is a crappy product" should have been a good enough reason.
Uh Oh ... now people will get fat.
Umm...that's a big bet.
But really, no one should profit from fraud. And I won't applaud anyone who does.
Bernie Madoff for example. Yeah he "made-OFF" alright...sad. Sitting in jail for the rest of his life, and his son commits suicide.
I wasn't going to comment because I've never had Skinnygirl & don't care to. Whole Foods was right to pull her product from the shelves but congratulations to her for making millions for herself. SOME of the comments here are so cruel and petty - obviously made by fat, bitter people. Bethenny Frankel is probably reading these comments and laughing her skinny, rich ass off. I'd bet money that her body looks better than every single one of the people who dissed her looks.
Inland Empire. Hemet Sucks!!! :)
Yea man... eat a burger skinny chick...add some cheese quit vomiting and wearing that enamel on ur pearly whites gurrrrl. ;)
I hope they sue her for $121 million. She's THE worst, so are her products. What a liar. Make her homeless, like the troll living under a bridge she should be.
I hope they sue her for $121 million. She's THE worst, so are her products.what a liar.
That drink is only for Mesicans.
GOOD FOR HER??
Who is Bethenny Frankel?
May her...& her product...dry up...& blow away......
May her.... and her product....dry up...and blow away.....
Who let Skeletor own a beverage company?
The idea that a company paid her $120 million for an extremely obvious marketing campaign is very disturbing.
Sell short Fortune Brands now- they are run by morons.
who is this woman, what is whole foods?
mmm, mmm, Sodium Benzoate ... BUT THERE'S ONLY A LITTLE!!!!!
Kudos to Whole Foods for sticking to their standards. While Whole Foods is expensive, I appreciate shopping there because they do all they to truly make sure the products they sell are all natural, haven't been produced at the exploitation of other humans and are conscious of the environment. They of course still sell things that are calorically dense, (read:sugar/fat (but not trans fats!) however, you can rest assured it doesn't contain chemicals that speak to your genes and influence negative gene expression. As for the high cost of Whole Foods, good for them for having such a successful business enterprise! Also, when I was in college, and did a project to help a children's shelter, they were the first to step up to the plate and give a generous donation of food.
So as for Skinny Girl-I have no opinions and won't tear down Bethenny. I also won't be drinking her pre-made margarita mix as I'd rather make the real version at home:).
thanks for nothing Mary Beth,,,it's idiots like you that keep this trash on TV and now in the
stores,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,go read a book for Christs sake
I am SO tired of people slamming Bethenny and saying she is "no one" and "nothing". Like her or don't like her, that is certainly your prerogative, but you cannot ignore the fact that this woman built an EMPIRE and is fascinating if nothing else.
I did watch the most recent series of her show, and watching her develop her brand from simply an idea to then selling it for $120 million was incredible! She is an amazing example of the American dream, and I say good for her! She has parlayed a small business and a single idea into a lifetime of providing for her daughter and never having to fall asleep at night wondering how the bills will be paid.
I think she is brash, somewhat offensive & insensitive. I also think she is hilarious, brilliant and insanely hard working.
I will continue to follow her and I wish her all the success in the world. Whether you "haters" believe it or not, she has worked her ass off and deserves every bit of it!
She broke the law to parlay her idea into financial security. Anybody can do that. Go down to your local jail – m
ost of the guys in there were trying to parlay their ideas into financial security.
Yep she did work her ass off. So did Hitler, doesn't make me like any of them any better.
There are not many supermarkets like whole foods and I need the organics because i have a liver disease and it's changed my life. (don't care about wine since I never touch alcohol) Growing foods organically foods also help save the earth.
What the Heck is that thing holding the bottle?
I had some Skinny Woman last night, it was good, but thats another story. Maybe they should remove the preservative and call it Skinny Old Woman.
She was probably a real looker back in the 60's. Now she needs some more preservatives.
Of course it's got preservatives. Otherwise, she'd start decomposing.
Whole Foods has many items that are not what they promote them to be – look at the fresh wave air cleaner- it is not natural and even has fake endorsements on the labels (the bunny)and it doesn't list the actual contents – the label says lime ? but it is not lime its limene. the carpet shake has plastic in it and their sachets are platic balls – how natural is that! but is this whole foods not checking or are the manufacturers lying?
@ Chris from Canada
Way to use an entertainment article as an opportunity to slam Americans.
Go ahead and generalize by calling us fat, jealous, trailer park dwellers.
My guess is YOU'RE the one that's jealous, "eh"?
Too bad we have to share a continent with the likes of YOU...
Those horrible Canadians. Glad that single comment from someone who may (or may not be) from Canada has finally promted you to speak the truth about how awful it is to live near those people. Canadians are an offensive, unpredictable, dangerous bunch. They're lucky they have us Americans around to class this continent up.
try that http://www.SUPEROSNIC.US.COM
That does not look healthy.
She needs to make a wine called.. Need to eat... Just saying..
Me being 400+ lbs, I like my women skinny
"Whole Truth" nothing but, the "Whole Truth", possible Jill Zarin has stock in" Whole Foods"
Whole Foods blows! Not because of Bethenny Frankel's stuff, but for selling 'Happy Meat'. They try to come across as pure, organic, and earth-friendly but they don't mind selling meat from animals that have been tortured at the slaughter house. They charge a fortune for everything and yes, I agree, organic fruit loops are just regular fruit loops!! There are a lot of things that need to be changed before they even get to BF's drink!
I tried it. The taste was very good but I drank almost the whole bottle by myself and it only got me half buzzed. I'll also add that I have a low tolerance for alcohol so that's odd.
Look at all these people hating! She's one of the few that i like from that show, because she made her own dollar. I respect that. Anyone hating is simply mad at themselves for letting life pass you by.
funny that no one has mentioned the fact that there isn't even an FDA approved definition of "Natural" so if Whole Foods says it isn't "natural" there is nothing backing this claim.
Better than being fat and drunk.
AMERICA, STOP LISTENING TO THESE NEW-AGE FREAKS WHO ARE TELLING YOU(pimpin' you) ON HOW TO BE HEALTHY. EAT AN APPLE OR BANANA AND BE DONE WITH IT. Now watch some got-to-be-right idiot follow up about pesticides in fruits, that's how crazy the media has gotten folks, brainwashed, pimped out, and pitiful.
This news entry would have been more interesting to me if the Food And Drug Administration's position was included as well as comment made to the role of the FDA in herbal products.
She didnt get that much money no way. Then again there are lots of very dingy impressionable 21 to 6o year old" ladies " who think to be young is to be trendy and act aloof. So maybe. Ugh that would be sad if it wasnt so bad

Who cares? she sold it the empire for $120 millions ,now that is this affecting her?Not at all! she became famous in the wine industry and sold the business thanks to Bravo TV and the stupid show the house wives of NY .We make this people rich and famous and we later complain about them is alll on US! I don't care about any of them .....
In this Country we speak and write English your comment is in your native language what about a little but of respect ?when you are in Rome you speak Roman if we are going to write in other languages it will be impossible, is many cultures here ,and you know that ...you soinds sneaky to me!
Damn, she sure sounds defensive about it.
*ahem* Haters gonna hate.
I think it would be rare to hear a story about a celebrity that endorses a product and really knows anything about the manufacture or content of said product.
I made a mess in my pants. It's brown and stinky in there now. I'm now going to mate with a gerbil.
It's because of the name. Come on, Skinnygirl? People must have complained. Bad name- should have been Fitgirl or Healthy girl.
I can't figure out why this is news ... like still
120 million.. he (or she) that laughs last.. I'm off to the kitchen to invent something.
Something for everyone. I'm sure this will not have an issue selling at bevmo or total wine and more. Fast food for the fatties and organic for the bridge and tunnel crowd. We would be unsatisfied if there were less choices right?
If they had named it something else like "Dietfast" or some stupid label you'd all be lapping it up instead of howling about political correctness.
Not all alcoholics are very very dumb. I happen to be an alcoholic and I carry a 4.0 GPA in college. You want proof find me, email me and I will send you a copy of my transcripts.
What a bunch of bitter, envious, people you all are. So she's skinny, so you're no doubt fat-–is that a reason to tear
this girl apart. You all make me sick, and sad. And the ignorance is just amazing, and in abundance.,
She is pretty fly, hope I get a hottie that ages well.
She is an old mule's blowhole who is anorexic with too many plastic surgeries selling under false advertising, and not adhering to Organic regulation. She deserved to get it pulled. Who wants to buy from a liar anyway? Skinnygirl-superficial skinny wench is more like it and i hope that she puts her 120mil to her child's education rather than her melted fallen face! Lose sleep, hell she needs to not wake from it! Sleep isn't helping her beauty obviously,..just another z-lister, pushing no good product to make a buck to make up for her non-talent ridden ass
SkinnyGirl is not great-tasting,and looks like urine in a bottle. It's pure marketing. Besides, everyone knows a Yankee can't make a real margarita. Show me a Texas woman selling a marg.. I'll buy.
Her face looks like a catcher's mitt.
THOSE PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE THAT WHOLE FOODS DOES NOT SELL CONTAINING ARTIFICIAL COLORING AND PRESERVATIVES YOUR 100% WRONG!!!
look at the ingredients for soy sauce! You might change your mind.
It's so unfortunate this woman has already had the chance to reproduce and succeeded in doing so...
Who is this person?
Tell me when CNN has pulled celebrity gossip out of its reporting - THEN I will care.
OMG. Chemicals. Like, ah, hydronium oxide
To the people knocking "organic", there is a huge difference. Organic means "no turds", as in chemical turds. Do you understand that the dye in foods, label "FD&C #5" and similar labels come from coal tar. That's right folks, coal tar. Your cutesy non-organic fortune cookies and cute looking "bright" foods..that is coal tar you are ingesting while making fun of us organic eaters.
Similarly other chemicals which are found in anti-freeze and chemical degreasers are in your "non-organic" food. I'll have my bread and milk without rocket fuel thank you very much.
There is a reason you get fatter, slower, and dumber. It's from the garbage in the food that is pumped in your system. Your body was not meant to ingest that. Which is why people that eat food untouched from the ground have the least amount of problems.
Hypocritical wholefoods has accepted genetically modified foods and no longers notifies customers. Wholefoods my ass. They should call themselves halffoods...
She looks like she just slugged down three bottles of the rot gut. Dazed eyes, slouching, bottle tilted back and to the side, and gripping the bottle like it was a che ap $1.25, 16 oz. can of Co lt 45 malt b eer. With a glass blasted surface there would be no glare to the camera from studio lights. And, If she wanted to professionally market the product, she would be looking directly into the camera, body language chic, sophis ticated, compelling, all uring, se xy. Trying to get you to buy a gar bage product that you don't really need but savvy marketing gets you to want it and to buy it, and enjoy it because it's Skinny Girl. More like Sk an ky Girl.
She doesn't even care anymore. She got her $120m and said screw this! I'm out!
holy $#1t the b17ch looks like a chipmunk. ugly lady.
Bethenny Frankel had a lot going for her, business-wise, pre-reality tv. Did she use her shows as P.R.? Duh. Truly, though, she is more than just Skinny Girl, more than tv. She is a best selling author, an amazing chef, and a smart and successful woman who has built herself up from a crappy childhood. If you don't like he, that is your business. Perhaps there was a business mistake made in regards to listing ingredients, but people, don't rip into someone you don't have any clue about or judge HER based on a single situation. Judge the situation, but you should know what you're talking about before you talk.
Politics seem to worn their way into every aspect of our lives...I'll make my own damn skinny girl drinks and not depend on someone else to tell me what's in it. Bethenny, you made your millions, you made a great family. Forgettabout it!
What a hoot! All the people pointing out that Whole Paycheck doesn't claim to be a health food store and that "organic" and "natural" are not the same as health food. Have they ever talked to some of the organic and natural food nuts? You'd think anything that isn't "organic and natural" is poison. Some even have the gall to say that locally produced food is healthier.
Look at all the nasty comments from the fat chicks. The US has, on average, the fattest women in the world. When I come back to the States after a few months, I can't believe the size of the asses of 75% of the women walking down the sidewalk. Jeez, you women need some anorexia in your lives, or at least a lot few Biggie-Size events at BK!
It should be as the.bottle claims not like. CNN is writing.at a second-grade level.
Good! Bethany is an idiot!
CNN main page headline: Skinnygirl pulled from Whole Foods
I thought maybe they dragged some waif out and fed her a steak.
Bethenny Frankel shows herself as having no moral character. She imitates the world of big business, having no concern moral cleanness, but whatever puts money in the bank. Jesus identified the time period we are living in, called his (invisible) "presence" at Matthew 24:27, 37 and 39, saying that "because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off."(Matt 24:12)
Good lord! Someone just had to drag religion, Jesus and the bible into this didn't they?!
YOU SUCK. ALL OF YOU DO.
here is how you make a true "skinny girl" margarita..Take your tequilla, sweet and sour mix, fresh lime juice, ice. Now, put your sour mix, limes &ice and put them back in the fridge.Drink the whole bottle of tequilla, puke done!
I'd like to put it in her backdoor.
typical american greed – a pampered rich chick, builds up a lie, sells it, makes a huge sum of money and whem it all falls apart – she has no responsibilities -typical
the buyers should sue her for falsely stating the product was all natural
People asking who Bethenny Frankel is – google her!
I work in a up-scale Wine & Spirits store, I have sampled Skinny Girl, Jose Cuervo Light, and Margaritaville Skinny margarita premixes. All of us in the store agree that Skinny girl finishes very poorly, almost a skunky sour finish, Jose Cuervo has the best tasting compared side to side, and it is less calories and cost half as much as Skinny Girl. They, Skinny Girl has done a good marketing job but that is about it.
At a get-together last weekend some friends and I taste-tested Skinny Girl Margarita side-by-side against Jose Cuervo Light Margarita. Cuervo won hands down. The consensus was toss the Skinny Girl and keep the Cuervo Light. And yes, the Cuervo is less calories and about half the price of Skinny Girl.
Is that Karen Carpenter?
Oh my god! Sodium Benzoate... what a toxic substance! That's absolutely rediculous. It's a non-toxic preservative that keeps the drink from spoiling and is found in ppm amounts. without it , you wouldn't have the time to drink wine delivered to the store as it would go bad before it hits the shelf. You organic foods people are a little nuts. Just another reason to stay away from Whole Foods and their overpriced groceries.
Chuck: Where did you get your medical degree? If you were part of the population that becomes VIOLENTLY ILL from even a drop of Sodium Benzoate, you have more sympathy! The symptoms are non-stop vomiting, then dry heaves, then residual aching in your chest and stomach. Headaches and aching pains in the joints (for days) that feels like you have been poisoned! You have no clue!
And, another thing, Chuck; when did you last take a class in economics? Or, didn't you notice the proliferation of usage of sodium benzoate AFTER NAFTA and GATT!!! NORMAL (western) (American) transportation and delivery and storage meant we had no need for Sodium Benzoate UNTIL after the government certified a global government.
Say what you wish!!! The Lady rocks, her product rocks, her show rocks!!!! She built an empire from scratch and is extremely rich because of her own hard work. So all you lazy lame@*s opinionated slackers comment away. ROCK ON BETHANY!!!!! NOW AND "EVER AFTER"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By any other name fraud would be the same
Whether or not you care about the sodium benzoate in SG, the taste will always be compromised when you drink any pre-mix Margarita with all ingredients in the same bottle. Better off opting for an organic or all-natural margarita mix and 100% agave Tequila.
Write a book about your crack diet
Wow- you Americans that live in trailer parks and think anyone who is THIN and takes care of themselves in on crack have serious mental issues and SUPER jealous of anyone looking good! Sure don't see any of the "haters" posting pictures of what they look like here lol
Hell, she is smart enough to make 120 MILLION dollars, looks great, is happy (we hope) And your saying she is successful cause she is on crack? How much did you smoke today? Cause SO many rich crack addicts eh? FRICK!
She sold her business for $120 MILLION- the woman obviously has a brain and looks damn good, KUDOO's to her! Come to Canada Bethany, it's okay to be beautiful, rich and famous AND people will still treat you with repect regardless....nothing but haters in America. I wonder how many 300lb + American's are sitting on their fat ass commenting and putting you down for being yourself and a success!!!! Boooooo to Bethany haters.
Can Americans get any fatter? Someone who is obese is a "skinny girl" compared to someone who is morbidly obese. And all the booze in the world ain't gonna help.
I make wine, nothing added, sugar, fruit, yeast, and natural calcium if a very acidic fruit. Do not tell me that drinks are not good sitting on the shelf for a while. If the alcohol in it is not strong enough to keep it preserved in a sealed container than it should never be put on the shelf.
Personally I love Whole Foods wish there were a lot more of them in Ohio where I live. It's so worth it to spend a little more money to get fruit and vegetables that have not been exposed to tons of chemicals – also antibiotic free chicken, grass fed beef products – the taste of these foods are so much better than the cheap chemical laden processed foods you find in grocery stores. And as far as prices a lot of foods are cheeper at Whole Foods especially when it comes to all natural and organic food comparison to the supermarket.
Amen to that.
You can buy inexpensive meals for the week at Whole Foods, but most people don't want to be bothered with preparing bulk whole foods and cheaper items like potatoes and cabbage.
I'd much rather spend a bit more at Whole Foods and not get grey and green meat that'sold at the other grocery stores nearby.
God is not real
Looking at her photo gives me an itchy minge.
>I haven’t lost even a wink of sleep.”
Who is that ugly old wrinkled squaw on the picture?
Just a TAD jealous eh? LOL
Only in America!
I need a FAT beer :) he he
skinnygirl..Now replaced by fat pig girl...chocolate milk...
I'm glad to hear that Whole Foods actually polices this stuff. Probably after someone complained, but still, I'm glad to hear they do this so we get what we pay for. They sure do like to charge us for it, that is for sure. Get our money's worth.
It's called READ THE LABEL – guess they finally did! Yes, perhaps after a complaint, but it states clearly on the BACK of the bottle in the Nutrition Label box under ingredients that it contains sodium benzoate! No rocket science or policing needed here – Whole Foods just did not do their homework. That's why it is important to read labels on everything you buy there (or anywhere) – especially if you have any allergies or really care deeply about what is going in your body. ;)
She said it herself we should all wise up and make our own drinks with basics!
Shame on them; You can never be too skinny or too thin.
I bought the Sangria a few minutes ago ..... I poured it down the drain ....... it tasted like what a stinky foot would taste........... like...... still trying to scrub it off my tongue
Oxymoron. Unhealthy alcohol?
Sodium benzoate is a natural occurring substance found in many common foods. Cranberries
are rich in benzoate. Sodium benzoate is as natural as it gets.
Love the product – you can always add more tequila – as you have to with all pre-mixed bottled drinks. But hers is very low in calories as it is labeled. I have a slew of girls who think you are great, smart and funny. .. and we love the product. Don't listen to the haters.
Which part of Crime, Criminal, False advertising, and Fraud did you miss?
She took advantage of her being on the dumb housewives show to shamelessly promote this silly product. A Margarita is not that hard to make! Just goes to show how many sheep there are out there that are so easily lead and sold stuff they do not need.......Anyway, she profited so I guess it shows the system works!
Somehow I find Bethenny Frankel's snooty remarks, ""I'm not making wheatgrass here. If I could put an agave plant and some limes on a shelf I would..." more offensive and showing a lack of remorse than the actual lousy product she is marketing. In fact, I would hope that public regulators would come down hard on the deceptive advertising claiming no preservatives when this is an outright fabrication. I think Frankel would see a new light if she were to spend some time incarcerated and forced to do community service for about 1000 hours or so. It's time we hold these celebrities to the same standards for the rest of our citizenry. I'm sick and tired of the plutocratic favoritism shown to these overpaid numbskulls.
It's called READ THE LABEL – not just the front of the bottle or the website! It states clearly on the BACK of the bottle in the Nutrition Label box under ingredients that it contains sodium benzoate! No rocket science or policing needed here – Whole Foods just did not do their homework. That's why it is important to read labels on everything you buy there (or anywhere) – especially if you have any allergies or really care deeply about what is going in your body
CNN WILL NOT REPORT THIS AT ALL!
LIBYAN REBELS ARE LITERALLY MASSACRING BLACKS IN LIBYA!
THEY ARE ALSO PUTTING THEM BY THE THOUSANDS IN MAKESHIFT PRISON CAMPS!
GET THIS INFO OUT WAKE THE HELL UP!
END THE NEW WORLD ORDER!
infowars . com/libyan-rebels-round-up-blacks-put-them-in-prison-camps/
um....she doesn't OWN the company anymore.
what a laugh you people are. So envious of someone who is blessed with some smarts and now with
a whole lot of money. Suck it up.
Whta a disgisting looking creature, she is nasty sick looking skinny biatch!!!
Whether or not their advertising is truthful, I can tell you that the stuff stinks. Worst tasting adult beverage I've had in a long time. Tastes nothing like a real margarita.
"everyone loves to try to tear down a success. This is a non-event. I haven’t lost even a wink of sleep.”- what an arrogant piece of trash.
this is a serious question!!! I really am curious to know.....who is bethaney frankell and what show is she on?
Ever heard of Google? Try it sometime! ;)
If she and the people who formulated the drink kept the preservative a secret from the people who paid $120 million for it she'll be in for a big surprise because they can sue her to get their cash back plus damages. I hope she hasn't spent too much of the loot.
There are tons of stuff that 1 not1ced shouldn't be sold 1n whole foods. 1 often see corn syrup as an 1ngred1ent 1n some of the 1tems!
That woman looks like a mummy.
"the ingredients aren't "all natural," like the bottle claims."
Neither is that face, but they still let that into the store...
Hahaha! I agree, her enhancements aren't natural at all. I have to laugh at all the women who follow her diet plan and "natural" way of life because it's all a LIE. That woman is anything BUT natural.
Green Farmer quotes from Wiki ped ia that Sod ium ben zoate is a preservative. She must inj ect that stuff in her face.
It's called READ THE LABEL – guess they finally did! It states clearly on the BACK of the bottle in the Nutrition Label box under ingredients that it contains sodium benzoate! No rocket science or policing needed here – Whole Foods just did not do their homework. That's why it is important to read labels on everything you buy there (or anywhere) – especially if you have any allergies or really care deeply about what is going in your body. ;)
Sodium benzoate is a preservative. It is bacteriostatic and fungistatic under acidic conditions. It is most widely used in acidic foods such as salad dressings (vinegar), carbonated drinks (carbonic acid), jams and fruit juices (citric acid), pickles (vinegar), and condiments. It is also used as a preservative in medicines and cosmetics. As a food additive, sodium benzoate has the E number E211.
It is also used in fireworks as a fuel in whistle mix, a powder that emits a whistling noise when compressed into a tube and ignited. The fuel is also one of the fastest burning rocket fuels and provides a lot of thrust and smoke. It does have its downsides: there is a high danger of explosion when the fuel is sharply compressed because of the fuel's sensitivity to impact.
Sodium benzoate is produced by the neutralization of benzoic acid with sodium hydroxide. Benzoic acid is detectable at low levels in cranberries, prunes, greengage plums, cinnamon, ripe cloves, and apples. Though benzoic acid is a more effective preservative, sodium benzoate is more commonly used as a food additive because benzoic acid does not dissolve well in water. Concentration as a preservative is limited by the FDA in the U.S. to 0.1% by weight. The International Programme on Chemical Safety found no adverse effects in humans at doses of 647–825 mg/kg of body weight per day.
Cats have a significantly lower tolerance against benzoic acid and its salts than rats and mice. Sodium benzoate is, however, allowed as an animal food additive at up to 0.1%, according to AFCO's official publication.[
Safety and health
Main article: Benzene in soft drinks
In combination with ascorbic acid (vitamin C, E300), sodium benzoate and potassium benzoate form benzene, a known carcinogen. However, in most beverages that contain both, the benzene levels are below those considered dangerous for consumption. Heat, light and shelf life can affect the rate at which benzene is formed.
Professor Peter W. Piper of the University of Sheffield claims that sodium benzoate by itself can damage and inactivate vital parts of DNA in a cell's mitochondria. Mitochondria consume oxygen to generate ATP, the body's energy currency. If they are damaged due to disease, the cell malfunctions and may enter apoptosis. There are many illnesses now tied to DNA damage, including Parkinson's and other neurodegenerative diseases, but above all, the aging process in general.
Research published in 2007 for the UK's Food Standards Agency (FSA) suggests that certain artificial colours, when paired with sodium benzoate (E211) may be linked to hyperactive behaviour. The results were inconsistent regarding sodium benzoate, so the FSA recommended further study.
Professor Jim Stevenson from Southampton University, and author of the report, said: "This has been a major study investigating an important area of research. The results suggest that consumption of certain mixtures of artificial food colours and sodium benzoate preservative are associated with increases in hyperactive behaviour in children. However, parents should not think that simply taking these additives out of food will prevent hyperactive disorders. We know that many other influences are at work but this at least is one a child can avoid."
Please don't force cats or children to drink Skinnygirl margaritas. They might get cancer or exhibit hyperactive tendencies, due to the presence of Sodium Benzoate. LOL!
In addition to what you have posted is that the combination of sodium benzoate and Vitamin C (limes!) or citric acid forms benzene, a known carcinogen, in the body. There's a significant history (going back about 20 years) of this discovery and of European and American soft drink companies being told to reformulate their products to remove the sodium benzoate since many also contain citric acid or Vitamin C. Most did so voluntarily to avoid getting called out and the resulting media attention.
BF totally sold out on her natural schtick and it was a stupid move. She should've put her Louboutin heel down on that one.
whole foods sells organic foods along with foods filled with chemicals- it is the buyers choice. people that mock health foods are not thinking about how food was grown in the past, with out chemical based pesticides and toxins. if you want trisodium phosphate (industrial chemical cleaner) then just eat cheerios. if you want battery acid just eat white sugar. the choice is yours.
I hate Whole Foods. Overpriced, overrated nonsense. I happen to like Skinny Girl margarita mix. I just use it as a base, adding some good tequila and maybe a fresh lime. This just sounds like a cheap publicity shot to me. One more reason to avoid Whole Foods.
Now I know who Betthenny Frankel look like the female Joker................
This is a story on the "Entertainment" portion of CNN and since she is in the entertainment business, she made the headlines! DUH
OMG, Only in America can a reality show produce these over night wanna be, and they get paid MILLIONS and for what??
frankel no longer owns the brand, so why is this even a story?
Wait. They pulled the ALCOHOL because it wasn't HEALTHY enough? Beavis?
Why is everyone mad at Whole Foods?! They pulled a product that stated it "contained no preservatives" but actually did. I hope every store pulls it. You can't state something that is completely false. What if it said "does not contains peanuts", but was made of peanut butter? Labels are meant to be factual and hers wasn't. Case closed!
Interesting. I agree, you should not be able to state something that is completely false. Unfortunately the 'natural' health remedies that WF sells have been scientifically shown not to work. They also falsely claim that 'organic' food is healthier.
I guarantee you that if you or I started a drink company in our basement and told Whole Foods to trust us that there's no preservatives in it they wouldn't trust us and we'd have to spend tens of thousands on independent lab tests for them. But if you have a show on TV I guess they don't dig so deep. It's like the more money you have the less you get screwed over in this world.
Actually it is stated correctly on the Label on the bottle – it is only misstated on the website and perhaps other advertisements....it's called "Always read the label!!" Even foods at health stores have bad stuff in some of them...sheesh...
Have you ever tried SG Margarita? It's horrifically bad, regardless of whether it's natural or not. No great loss for Whole foods, imho.
Why is anyone shopping at "take my whole wallet foods". The prices are absurd. VIVA TRADER JOE'S!!!
Whole foods equals suckers. Have people pay up to eat healthÝ, cuz its too hard to eat regular and just excercise instead. That's too difficult. People are lazy. Props to Bethany for making 120 mil
is she from somalia?
A very close friend worked at Whole Foods for 3 years, and after seeing her come home often in tears after being lied to and put down by management, I've come to the realization that the only thing toxic at Whole Foods is Whole Foods. There is a groupthink culture there that discourages individuality – and they are perpetuating an unsustainable type of agriculture that reduces yield in a time of great famine in many parts of the world.
The Evil Empire (WF) is just another church. There is very little to no scientific evidence that 'organic' food is any healthier, and looking at the average WF customer it is evident that they have never seen the inside of a gym. The blind preaching of local and/or organic farming is ecologically very irresponsible.
God, Whole Foods is so pretentious.
Her face shape/features are butt a** ugly. She is in no way attractive and I have no idea why she's famous
Cryptkeeper is close, but actually I think she looks more like Jack Nicholson's Joker.
Skinnygirl? More like Dried-Up Ho!
Isn't that the Whole Point to be skinny?
Whole foods is healthier options idiots. It's wholesome food. You can have your fruit loops as long as it is wholesome. That doesn't mean you should eat alot of it though. What do you want them to serve? Wheatgrass only. Secondly I don't know this woman and could careless for her show (as I hate all reality tv stars) but damn she looks so hot in that pic.
Anorexic is not hot....
Just noticing how bad these "stars" look nowadays... someone should inform them that it's okay to look a little older this year than you did last year, like the rest of us do. These surguries don't make them look any younger, they just look like freaks. The skeletal monstrosity pictured above is a fine example.
Whole Paycheck Foods is waaaaay overrated. They watch their customers as if everyone were shoplifting.
Must depend on the area, because it's not like that in Houston.
Not everyone, just you Uncle Pickles.
If she is the spokesmodel for this product.....they should change the name of it to "Skeletor Margarita".
WHY.IS.THIS.NEWS!!!??? who the hell is this person??! Pathetic...
We don't take kindly to preservatives in these here parts.
LOL I don't understand all the ignorant people who posted on this, being so negative and bitter, towards someone NONE of you know or who have ever met. Sooo funny that some of you, who don't like this person who's on television, took time out of your day to post negative crap on here. Go away. I would LOVE to see pictures of each of you who posted negative comments. idiots. pretty sad
So you would have us post positive comments a has perpetrated a felony? Fraud and false advertising are not behaviors that should draw glowing compliments. So far as the comments about her anorexic visage are concerned, she does look much older than she is. She is thinner than good health would suggest, appearing to resemble classic cases of alcoholism and anorexia. Given these are impressions from a single photo, I would venture to say they aren't far off the mark in reality.
the website says "no preservatives," but a rep from Skinnygirl told TMZ, "Skinnygirl Margarita contains very low levels of sodium benzoate (a preservative) so it can stay on the shelves."
Well that's nice. So would that be considered false advertising, or do they have a tiny disclaimer somewhere that allows them to lie? Pretty sure you can't say "this product contains no preservatives" when it does. In fact, as others have mentioned as I thought when reading this, if the buyer wasn't made fully aware of this including their misleading ads they could sue or seek a reversal of the purchase.
It is the website that is misleading....the ingredients ARE listed correctly on the product (the bottle) itself so the buyer cannot get their money back – it's called due diligence....what company would buy another without actually reading the label and checking out the product? Any company that would purchase another solely on what a website hype says deserves what they get.....
and anyone who has a food allergy – especially one that would be fatal @dursban – reads labels before consuming – they don't rely on website hype only.
What about the rest of us who aren't rich enough to drive our Prius's (Pri-i?) to Whole Foods?
I don't know who Bethenny Frankel is, but she could use adding a few pounds. Looks like a skeleton with skin, kinda' gross. Put on 20 pounds, she'd be hot.
Is she married to Al Frankel?? I like being out of touch!!!
Apparently sodium benzoate is supernatural.
Poor thing. She just doesn't get it, does she? When Whole Foods sells a "natural" product, IT HAS TO BE NATURAL! Full stop. Their brand is built on it, and they cannot afford to tarnish that reputation.
Why would anyone be enthusiastic about buying a product line from a reality tv star in the first place?
Perhaps she should use some of that 120 million and purchase a dictionary explaining to this loud vulgar female what all natural means
What she's done here, unless she disclosed it to the buyer in advance, is called "fraud." If the new owner chooses, she could be forced to refund their purchase amount plus damages in addition to seeing some jail time.
This is fraudulent and criminal activity. Have we gotten so used to this behavior that we consider it a nonevent?
@Vin and @DoNotWorry It's called READ THE LABEL – It states clearly on the BACK of the bottle in the Nutrition Label box under ingredients that it contains sodium benzoate! No hiding the facts, or rocket science or policing needed here – Whole Foods just did not do their homework. That's why it is important to read labels on everything you buy there (or anywhere) – especially if you have any allergies or really care deeply about what is going in your body. There is no recourse for a company that purchases a products that is clearly and properly labelled under the Ingredients portion of the bottle....does not matter what the website or front of the bottle says.....
Don't eat those inorganic fruits! They'll cut your mouth and/or break your teeth.
Well she should be red faced because she might have sold the company, but what she did by claiming all natural ingredients is called False Advertising. Perhaps she should use some of that 120
Why should she care, it states in the last line she sold the product off for $120 mil? She made a profit off of it, and that is that.
Her "margarita" as she claims, is disgusting. Obviously she has never had a good margarita because her margarita is made with toilet water!
Yes, by all means, let's continue to perpetuate the "only skinny girls are beautiful myth".
Call me crazy but I like my women to look like women and have some CURVES. I don't find a woman with the body of a 12 year old boy with fake b00bs at all attractive.
Side note: the "real housewives" (of any city) are all together worthless human beings. Vain, arrogant, caddy, snobby, and self absorbed.
Yeah, just the thing that needs to be supported by purchase and emulated.
Keep up the good work America...
Ahhh Whole Foods! The one place on the food chain were being a vacant-eyed, twitchy vegan wandering aimlessly in search of diet organic whale excrement supplements is considered evolutionary progress.
hahaha. Wholefoods sells junk. They have completely lost touch of the idea of natural non-preservative foods. In addition, they sold out on the GMO market too. The only people I see at Whole foods are yuppies who think they know what they are buying.
I don't know who Bethenny Frankel is, but her parents don't know how to spell.
Bravo star Bethenny Frankel’s...
Granted, I don't watch Bravo, but who is this person? Someone give her a cheeseburger.
the drink should have been skelator girl. and god is she fugly.
Someone has finally perfected a low-fat margarita and now it's getting pulled from the shelves?
Skinny girl is a venus fly trap that traps all kinds of flies that go buzzing busy bodying in their quest to be glamourous.
How are people who are famous for being obnoxious on Bravo gaining enough traction to be famous elsewhere?
That is one scary looking biotch.
The part that cracks me up is that she is not losing any sleep over this. I guess not because she sold the company. The problem is now theirs and not hers.
they should rename it "tacky girl"
Crappy reporting. Whole Foods isn't a heath food chain – and they'd never say that they are! They are a leader in natural and organic foods which does NOT equate to HEALTH foods. they don't stock items that have artificial coloring, artificial flavorings, artificial sweetners and preservatives.
I wouldn't buy SkinnyGirl margaritas at Whole Foods or ANYWHERE. Premixed margaritas are nasty!
Who likes bones? She is nothing but skin and bones...more skin than bones. As one commenter wrote, she looks like a crypt keeper; a little meat is much better than bones.
Whole Foods is .. Whole Paycheck .. to shop there. Everything is way too expensive for the average, hard working, middle class person.
I never tried it. If i'm going to have a drink, might as well have the good stuff. Anyway, it's not as though i'm going to be sucking down drinks all night or having a drink every day...it's so fatten. God forbid we say skinny. Don't want to offend the fat people.
I think it's more offensive due to the proliferation of eating disorders among young girls. Branding like this and little tiny models in the media are giving these young girls the impression that you have to be skinny to be beautiful. I like girls with a healthy, proportional, natural body shape. Neither obese nor anorexic looking. Skinny does not equal pretty.
Skinny is better than a fat pig.
She should have named the drink "Jaws" she has the biggest jaw bones I have ever seen on a woman. This chick is beyong fuuuggggly! If I were a man, I'd have to bag her face to sleep with her.
Share the $120 million and I'll suck her toes.
All 12 of them.
Haha we always say she looks like Quagmire from Family Guy.
No Whole Paycheck OR Skinnygirl drinks for me, just give me a bottle of Sobieski and a can of seltzer water.
They should name this wine Selfish Psycho BYtch, with the bony axx.
Whole Foods is an over-priced, over-hyped, run-of the-mill supermarket. Consumers should have free choice among all available products.
You do have free choice. You can choose not to shop there. If you want to eat highly processed crap with tons of chemicals go to the Piggly WIggly. Whole Foods DOES NOT sell ANY products that use ARTIFICIAL colors, flavors, preservatives, etc. It is their free choice as a business to do so.
Homemade margaritas all the way! None of this premixed garbage...
For real. who drinks this fake tasting crap. fresh limes don't need preservatives!
I guess harley davidson needs to stop making fatboys.
Who is this person anyway? Never heard of her. And I agree with whoever said that the brand name is offensive. Maybe should have called it Bulemia Beverage, or Anorexia Alcohol.
the only reason they took it off the shelves is because the label offends fat people.
I'll sit on you!
This is pretty amusing, Whole Foods pretending that they actually have standards. For the food, sure. But for their employees and customers? No siree.
stacia you will die young, because of your arrogance (how dare whole foods looks after your health!)
You have issues and need therapy. Have a wonderful day.
$120 MILLION DOLLARS..........enough said.
Yes, 120 million and she's still not an A-lister nor is she any less conceited than before either. She can laugh all the way to the bank, but her 120 million dollar life is not any better than mine.
ABCD, yes it is. 120,000,000 times better.
@P.J out of the 120, she probably saw a total of maybe 15 million. Taxes to start with, her staff/employee's, paying for marketing, lawyer's, actually making the products, shipping and so on and so on...so she may have pulled in 120, but I highly doubt she ever saw anything close to that in her bank account.
ABCD, as most people know, selling your idea/company etc is not like winning prizes on The Price is Right. You structure the sale in a tax efficient way that defers or negates tax liabilities. That aside, I'll warrant she still has way more money than you do. And don't think she didn't work really hard to do it.
Oh, and $120 million is what she sold the company for. Therefore, no staff, no marketing, no distribution etc. Other than being the spokesperson for Skinnygirl, her work is done.
the name skinny girl is very offensive and demeaning. typical american marketing
Vivian, I have to agree with you, but also, just because you're "skinny" like her, doesn't mean you're at all attractive either.
HELLO! it is LOW Cal!
@ABCD: or healthy...
Why are some of you hating on Betthany? This girl had a very difficult childhood and has made herself alone into a success. $120,000,000 !!! Way to go Betthany.. I think she's very attractive... so is her husband and her little girl will be also. I'm happy for her.
@ I Agree, exactly! Skinny doesn't mean anything other than not fat.
You'd have to be an idiot to think there wouldn't be some sort of "something" in any food/drink product to keep it fresh or shelvable. So glad I don't shop at Whole Foods and definitely won't after this stupid stunt.
If drinking that crap makes you look like her, it has to be concocted from industrial waste.
I would drink it if it made me look like her.
Like death warmed over?
@Ruth: Really?? I looked at her and immediately thought she was at least 50 years old. I looked her up on Wikipedia (to find out who she was) and was shocked to learn she's only 41. Why anyone would want to look nearly 10 years older than they are is unfathomable.
Shame on Skinnygirl (I shuddered a little writing something so ridiculous) for misrepresenting whether or not their product is "all natural."
Shame on Whole Foods for, once again, proving they are the undisputed world leader in pretentiousness. Why not stock the product (correctly labeled, of course) and let the consumer decide?
Because WF doesn't sell anything with artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.
Frankly, if a company is selling me a product to resell and lies about its contents, I'd drop their ENTIRE line, as I can no longer trust them.
Fraud. Why deal with a company who defrauds you and your clients? The corporate buyer also has grounds to sue for fraud, as well as damaging their brand name. FDA has issues with not labeling sodium benzoate. I'm glad she sleeps well.
Whole Foods is full of gas! Are they actually saying they perfer to sell products that may make people sick, because of improper preservation! I don't think so, something else is up! I'm no fan of Bethenny Frankels, she's also full of gas & does look like the crypt keepers wife, but in this business matter I have to side with her team!!
Agree. There are a lot of things at whole foods that would be in that same category, and more. Whether Bethany is your favorite personality or not is beside the point.
There are plenty of ways to preserve things without artificial ingredients. In addition, yes, food actually should go bad. Its not supposed to last forever on a shelf
Preservatives in food are one of the possible (not proven, but not disproven either) causes for the ever-younger onset of puberty in children. While I understand that preservatives are necessary to make the global food business work and feed billions and billions of people. I worked hard at school and earned a good job and make enough money that I can afford some parts of my life to be better than that of the masses of low-wage high-school graduates. One of those ways is that I choose not to pollute my body and those of my family with preservatives that we don't really understand.
Whole Foods, among other companies, gives me that choice. Feel free to spend your disposable income in other ways, if you have any.
Sorry, but when a product is advertized and billed as all natural, yet has preservatives, what ELSE is in it that is being lied about?
What of the sodium benzoate sensitive people? What of those who have true allergies? Just let them die, right?
Lie about the content of ONE of your products, I'd remove ALL of your products from any business I'm operating.
I think the problem is that the product was marketed to Whole Foods as "all natural" and that is what the bottle states, but that is not the case. That is false advertising and could cause problems for them if they have been marketing in their stores that way.
Alcohol is not good for you anyway. It's a depressant, destroys brain cells, and is addictive. BUT HEY, that's supposed to be "good" for you.
Guess what, Thomas. Alcohol does NOT kill brain cells.. Sure it hurts various organs in you body, but the brain isn't one of them. Please google and read this article for more information The 6 Most Frequently Quoted Brain Facts (That Are Total BS)
Yes – Thomas is correct.
It not only whiplashes the delicate neuronal bodies with excessive dehydration but there is also a rather harsh set of toxins unleashed . Preswrvatives are NOT food. It seems any kind of food preservatives are harmful to intrinsic faculties of brain /body sugar metabolism too...and people that certainly help falsify the freshness of a product. To me, the latter is unethical -
Alcohol is depressant for anyone who uses it doesn't matter who you are. Anyone who is depressed, stressed, unhappy, bored, and others drink alcohol you will have a blast without the knowledge.
Weed probably isn't good for you either but some things require a small sacrifice!
How can alcohol be a depressant when it makes me feel so good? ;)
It's true! Excessive alcohol does kill brain cells. It's a medical fact. I know a few very very dumb people who are wino's. Anyone who is an alcoholic is really stupid.
Alcohol is a CNS depressant. It does NOT kill brain cells. Brain cells CAN die from prolonged apnea from heavy abuse of alcohol though.
Kindly learn the FACTS about something if you are going to post something. You'll look less the fool and you'll be giving good information.
Wzrd1 ….uh – dorsally speaking here it seems you expressed emotions about "getting facts right".
It just so happens that the brain IS part of the CNS – or at least, with all good happy CNN-humour and generous clear thinking, find some huperzine-A and recall that them there neurons up in the big B are connected to them there synapses down the long S.
So if I may, it would seem that Thomas, Psychic ThoughtSpy and others are definitely correct… xo
Sorry, @Thomas and @PsychicThoughtSpy, alcohol only does what you claim when consumed in EXCESS. In fact it is HEALTHY to have one drink per day. Such low-level consumption is proven to have many health benefits, none the least of which is decreased heart disease and decreased risk of infection. So how about you dispose of the Prohibition-era falsehoods?
Alcohol is a poison. The reason you get a buzz is because it's trying to kill you.
But a glass of it a day is "good for you"!. Durp.
Ok good...now will someone pull HER off the airwaves. She looks like a female Crypt Keeper. "This is a non-event...." How arrogant. SHE'S a non-event...
If she's a non-event, why are you clicking on an article that is clearly about her? You people who post stuff about others that you claim to dislike are the non-events! Go back to your boring lives...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Go, Bethenny! Live the Dream!!
@Karen... I personally clicked on the link because I was curious as to who or what "Skinnygirl" was, not because I have an unnatural interest in this reality show loser... I thought that "Skinnygirl" was probably some anorexic woman that was being pulled from Whole Foods advertising because she was a poor example for tween and teen girls...
Have to agree with you on this.
Obviously deb you are an even bigger non-event.... get a life away from these articles if you don't like them... REAL simple, even for you..
Actually, Karen, according to the headline it's about something called Skinnygirl. I clicked for the same reason Mikoid did. I don't have a clue who this woman is so I agree....she's a non-event. And Marin...what you're missing is we clicked on a link we thought might have some social relevance and instead got an article about someone who is apparently a lame reality celebrity (I can't say "star") and her margarita mix.
Same as Mikoid here. Don't know or care who she is. Agree she's a non-event.
You all clicked on it so from a PR perspective, it's already a success and you helped because your clicks were logged into the CNN database. Skinnygirl thanks you.
There ought to be a knucklehead counter on the server for every person that clicks on an article and then types in a "who cares" comment...
Which has what significance to me?
That's great. Look at that woman. If that's what the country means by fighing obesity, I'll take "fat chicks!"
Good God someone force feed that woman some mashed potatos
I see their is a lot of animosity today! I will say this who cares! Others will say well you did you commented. Life is boring full of problems people which all of you know that already. No one I mean no one is busy every second of their lifes. I put this comment cuase it's f****** boring for the rest of you STFU!
Doesn't she disappear when she turns sideways? Or maybe she just looks like a zipper.
I clicked on it because I thought a Whole Fiods store kicked a skinny girl out of their store. Never heard of Skinnygirl drink nor of Betha who?? Whatever reality show she's from, I've never seen it and never seen her, nor would I want to.
I'll be honest, I don't even know WHO she is and really don't care.
BUT, if she was trying to see me food, no thanks. I don't buy any food products from an anorexic.
ESPECIALLY when that person lies about having preservatives in their products. Lie about that, what ELSE is in it?
Way to go, Mikoid. Put this fool in their place. Ignorance just screams out of their comment. Good job.
The single fascinating thing about this woman, beyond her anorexia, is that she is defending a product that she no longer owns and has already sold for $120 million. What a loser? And to those who would defend her, it is a federal and state crime to claim something is free of preservatives when it is not. Instead of defending her, we should be watching her go off to jail for her crime and the company should be fined megabucks for false advertising. Sodium benzoate is a nasty preservative. Although widely used, it is by no means "safe" or organic..
Yeah...I'm pretty sure that's what she thinks everytime she heads to the bank. Wish I could have created something that gave me a $120 million paycheck.
I agree with everyone here: non-event. I mean, who cares really?
This is clearly the case of a very clever Storyline. I was expecting some crazy thin woman/crazy person that was being physically removed from a whole foods store by police. Instead I got Sucka punched with a dumb *ucking story about nothingness. I hate ANYTHING to do with reality tv.. Obviously. I'd rather watch scripted shows, with paid, actors, writers, directors...
Way to go girl. You don't have to put up with. It'll sell in many other places. You got yours.
So there you are! I was wondering what idiot liked her!
Unless Bethany alone has drank 120 million dollars worth, which I doubt, this makes you the idiot. Do you just go online to make fun of people, because in the realworld your scared to open up your mouth?
Can Bethenny Frankel be pulled from my television and my internet?
Yep...I hear ya.
Yep, just change the change and don't click on any links pertaining to her.
whoops, goofy proofing there.
Just change the channel and don't click on any links pertaining to her.
Yep! Change the channel! DUHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
who is bethaney frankell and what show is she on?
yes. it's called free will, moron. look into it.
Who the heck is Bethenny Frankel? Does anyone watch Bravo? It seems to me that the words "Bravo star" are an oxymoron. Celebrity culture is rotting Americans' minds.
don't watch her. don't read any articles about her. you choose to watch/read about her.
I'll third the question: Who the hell IS she? What show?
Not that I watch Bravo at all...
But, WHY in the HELL would ANYONE purchase ANY food product from someone who is anorexic?
In my mind, that is just being suicidal.
Oh, my wife doesn't know who she is and I asked HER to look, SHE says she's anorexic too.
When I told my wife this story, she commented how her sister is deadly allergic to sodium benzoate.
So, she could easily have tried this trash and either died or went to the hospital.
Yes...it's the button on your remote that reads "Off/On".
I too clicked it on because I wanted to know what the products are. After reading ALL the posts it doesn't seem like anyone else knows who she is. A reality star on Bravo? Star because she's who or does what? Seriously, who is she? All I know is it's not my Skinny Cow ice cream bars.
Yes, please pull BF and her square face from my tv and internet.
They should have pulled it because it's not that good! The only reason it is selling is because of the show... and it doesn't even get you buzzed.
Whole Foods is not a "health food chain" as claimed in the story. Just a walk down the aisles will tell you that.
Whole foods doesn't claim to be a health food store
Maybe if they put in enough alcohol, they wouldn't need the preservative.
No kidding–healthfood store?! A large portion of what they sell is junk food. News flashfolks: "Organic" Froot loops are still froot loops.
Stefan – Even wine has preservatives.
hear hear. Making ones own drinks with fresh ingredients isn't that hard
Whole Foods?... It's more like Whole Paycheck...
Someone should let BF know that some people are intolerant of sodium benzoate and shouldn't be misled!
Who cares really? Bigger new stories out there – have any of you even tried the stuff?
It's gettin real in the Whole Foods parkin lot
You know the deal with the little shoppin carts they got
Bruce – He said put ENOUGH alcohol... Wine doesn't have ENOUGH alcohol :)
You're WRONG. Skinny Girl is wonderful. To anyone who likes Margaritas.....try it. It's very very tasty :)
They should've pulled it based on the name alone. Also, I've tasted it; no great shakes.
The chain does not claim to be a health food chain. Read the article again. Read: .. Organic and natural is very different from "health food".
Also note that the "preservatives" in wine are usually from the fumes of sulfur to prevent cancer causing fungi from forming. It is NOT a preservative per se but rather a fungicide and is completely natural and organic.
She could have killed somebody!
oh we prefer fatgirl wine instead
Well, I personally would have preferred that they removed Hairygirl before Skinnygirl. But i am perhaps a bit closed-minded on that front.
Whole Foods = Whole Paycheck
120 mil !! Wow!! A hundred & 20 million dollars! Good, bad, funny sucky!!! Doesn't matter! $120 MIL!! you go, girl!
@bourneblogger...Hardee Har Har...We've never heard that one before...
Not true! I got a slight *buzz* after drinking 6 bottles of the stuff one night.
I LOVE Bethany, but skinny girl sucks. I bought one bottle, tried it,, tasted it, then poured it out.
I love Margaritias, & know what they should taste like. Sorry Bethany.
She looks like Skeletor from He-Man. She really should super-size the deal.
Yeah….Pretty much like ‘Arbor Mist’ – yuck.. bubbly kool-aid!!
@"Truth": I have never heard anyone, Whole Foods included, refer to them as a "health food store". What they do say is that they sell only foods free of preservatives, etc. You apparently inferred "health food" statement for yourself. They never claim that. It's still up to you, the consumer, to do your homework and buy the foods you want to eat. If you do wish to eat junk food, then at least theirs is made of wholesome foods that are bad for you but at least unadulterated (like butter), as opposed to hydrogenated oils, for example.
This is a joke right? I have a food sensitivity to most preservatives and shopping at Whole Foods is a wasted effort for me since the majority of products they sell have some form of artificial preservative. To me this is a huge hypocrisy and smacks of corporate egalitarianism.
Love Wholefoods-great place to find vegetarian and vegan products-food and health/beauty items. They don't claim to be a health store but it's one of a few places you can buy humanely obtained meat products if you have a meat eater in the family-I do. :( Don't care much about the alcohol aspects of the store. People who develop food items or alcohol items and label them a certain way better be truthful-we will find out! :)
Pam, why does having a meat eater (as you call him/her) in your family upset you?
Bethennys statement was in true Bethenny form and right on the money. Good for her, I love Whole Foods but not everything in their store contains 100% ingredients that are all natural. The best part of the news article is how much Bethenny sold the Skinny Girl empire for. What a great story of success; a women who was not too long ago broke, created and built something that was in all "good" or health concious for people and is now financially stable as a result. Way to go Bethenny I'm proud of you!
It tastes horrible!
Can you say PETArd.This idiot is another radical animal rights nutjob.
AMEN!! I totally agree with you 100%.
I purchased a bottle of Skinny Girl Margarita two months ago... for the first time (out of curiosity) and I was not impressed. It has this weird chemical aftertaste (the preservatives) and I finished the bottle in 3 days never getting a slight buzz! Needless to say, I will never purchase that brand again. Waste of money in my honest opinion.
Oh darn...well guess it's back to barfing after every meal....
sorry....i plead the 5TH
