Chad Michael Murray will return to 'One Tree Hill'Former “One Tree Hill” star Chad Michael Murray will reprise his role as Lucas Scott in the series’ final season, according to The CW. Murray’s character - who was last seen driving off into the distance in season 6 - will return to Tree Hill for Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) after she reaches out to him for help. But don’t expect to see Murray’s on-screen wife Peyton (Hilarie Burton) during the ninth season. Sources told TVLine that Burton, who is currently on USA’s “White Collar,” wasn’t invited back. This show is AWESOME!!! I am so glad that Chad Michael Murray is coming back! I wish Hillary Burton would also, but I'm glad that at least one of them is!!
I totally agree! Was always a CMM/HB fan. Wasnt quite the same w/o them but still faithfully watched. I wish this was NOT the show's final season:( I had no idea. It is one of very few good shows left thats not reality.
I'm glad he is gonna be back for at least one episode, it will give the fans some closure for when the show is finally over. I wish Peyton would come back also.

this is really exciting for the fans of this show. After all the support the loyal fans put forth over the last two years to keep OTH on the air, this is the best gift the creators could of given us! The fans don't care if you don't like it, we're just happy to see it end the proper way!
