Brad Pitt rescues 'World War Z' extraDreamboat movie star Brad Pitt saved a “World War Z” extra from being trampled during filming, reports The Scottish Sun. Pitt, who stars as a United Nations employee in the zombie apocalypse film, was filming a scene in which 700 extras tear through George Square in Glasgow, Scotland, on Wednesday. During the scene, a woman fell down, putting herself in danger of being run over by her fellow extras. But Pitt, a real-life hero, swooped in and brought her to her feet. "Lots of people hurt themselves, and Brad came to the rescue of a woman who slipped," a witness told the paper of the fleeing-from-zombies scene. "I don't think she could believe it when Brad picked her up. He didn't have time to speak to her as it was mid-shoot. But she said afterwards how grateful she was, despite having a badly-grazed knee.” Other extras also received "bumps and scrapes" during the elaborate take. After a string of injuries occurred on set, filming was paused for a "safety talk," The Sun reported. Pitt's sci-fi thriller will be released in December 2012. |

Big deal. Brad did what any caring person would do.
ITS SO HARD BEING A PARENT....MARRY HER OR JUST LEAVE HER AND PAY CHILD SUPPORT
AN LEARN TO LIVE A UNCONTROLED LIFE.....GET OUT OF THE TRAP
Chis I totally agree with you, actors are nothing but people lucky to get paid outrageous salaries and most of the movies are terrible, I stopped going to the movies and save my hard earned money on more important things in life, I know in about 2 years they are on tv anyhow
That's hardly a rescue lol
"But Pitt, a real-life hero, swooped in and brought her to her feet."
I hate the way people and news media put actors up on some pedestal.
In reply to "Slow news day, CNN?"
Brad Pitt rescues a woman who was being attacked by 700 zombies, and you don't consider that news ?!?!
He's probably a good man, I would'nt expect anything less from him and I'm sure that's the way he see's it.
No big deal.
I was an extra on "Norbit" during a mob scene 150 extras were told to run into a small alley. I sheltered a small guy from being trampled by fellow extras. The next take I went ass over tea kettle during the same scene. What's that karma in reverse. Directors really need to pay attention to the way they stage scenes. It's common sense. Don't send 150 extras at full speed into an alley 5 feet wide. But then extras are usually just "scenery that eats"
Slow news day, CNN?
Non-story... and you aren't an honorable human being if you don't assist someone in a similar situation – man or woman.
AWESOME JOB, MR PITT!!! AWESOME JOB!!!
In the photo attached to this story, he doesn't look like much of a dreamboat. He's looking old for his age.
This may be a publibity stunt but I can't understand why some woman would throw herself down in front of running people. That would be plain stupidity. I too have been bothered by Mr. Pitt and Ms. Anistons (I call them this because I am not a personal friend so I owe them both the respect of not acting like I do) breakup because they seemed to be the dream couple and we all hoped we would find that in our own lives but alas it seems differences in life goals came between them and maybe too many temptations. Anyway all we hear is when a celebrity hits someone or curses someone. It is about time to hear when a celeb does something right. I like to believe that we would all risk our lives to help someone else but I am not too sure how many would even try. If it was a PR stunt then shame on all of you. If not then I am very glad that God put the right celeb in that movie because at least he did something. Bravo Mr. Pitt
Publicity stunts have been around for a VERY long time and this is no different. All this is is "ink" for the movie they're shooting now.
Readers and others, this is a great hero story and I am greatfull for Brads' actions and risks. Thanks Brad. But Brad you will have to live with this forever. Pls think about our GI's heros and you will fit in...go see them. As one hero to another, they would love a minute of your time...dude. God bless doers.
He's a jerk!
If Brad things his new look is good for his image,he is crazy. He looks like some homeless person. Surely he makes enough money ti get his hair cut and buy some new clothes. He looks to be about 65 years old in all of his pictures. What happened toi neat and cllean.
is there anything he cant do??? he pulls the finest women in hollywood, makes great movies, and saves lives. a true american hero
I still don't like him after what he did to Jennifer Aniston. He'll probably do it to Angelina Jolie someday but I won't have any sympathy for her.
Wow! How did we ever get along with out him!
All of this dosen't erase the fact that he cheated on his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston and got Angelin jolie the withc pregnant before he filed for Divorce. I don't respect Brad Pitt after he did that and I dodn't think he ever will. He has suffered the Karmic retribution of what he did because none of his films since then have been hits. He has gotten it back and glad to know we live in a universe where what goes around does come back around. People think they get away with things but they don't it comes back to them.
Well, that goes to show you that is what type of person he is-no, he did nothing heroic but he helped someone, what other actors would even think to do that? Just sayin', it's the little actions in life that really make a difference. I can see why Hot Angelina fell in love with him!! I am a woman and they both are hot hot HOT!!!
Thats cool i guess..now wheres the story about the soldiers in Afghanistan??
this man is no hero, he still owes me $44.00 from 2 years ago at that strip club.
I've always thought that he was a good guy.
Just what is a "badly-grazed knee" anywho??
Is that like a jumbo shrimp thingy?
Cant believe I gave up 3 min of my life reading this bull$%^&. My Hero what a crock
This is a better story than who wore who, who's marrying you-know-who, and the who's who who will never be.
For all the people saying this is a PR stunt, it is.
Do you really think that it is just a coincidence that this story comes out ONE DAY after the story about Matthew Fox punching a woman (and the story about Fox associated him with the WWZ movie) came out?
I think not.
WWZ is trying to keep viewers who would not have gone to see Fox's movie, but now, becuase Pitt saved a woman, they think people will still see their movie. Nice try... dumb.
If he scooped me up..I would have a hard time letting go!
Well that proves it he really is the perfect man.
The book, World War Z is really good. Can't wait for the movie to come out. That does not surprise me about Brad Pitt, he seems to be a really good man.
Fantastic. Save the extras- eff the story.
Sigh.
BREAKING NEWS; 6 people have been confirmed dead after being knocked to the ground and stomped on by Hollywood star Brad Pitt during his attempt to save the life of an extra on the movie set of World War Z in Scotland. The dead were believed also to be extras from this movie set. Details are still sketchy but rumor has it that the lady rescued is the surrogate mother of his Italian/ Mexican/American baby, due to be released February 22, 2012 according to the ladies OBGYN. We have learned that the father of one of the deceased males made a statement to a local news station commenting "We feel sure that we will miss our loved ones but just knowing that they were murdered by Brad Pitt makes it oh so bearable. We will not be pressing charges. Love You Brad."
The Brangelina's are famous for hyping everything they do. Ms. Jolie extracted millions of dollars for a magazine to photograph her children with the proviso that nothing detrimental in the future would ever be printed. We don't have any details of this "hero" story, but it sure reeks of a pure publicity stunt. That isn't to say that he didn't help the woman, but one wonders why it gets this much ballyhoo.
ohhh..big deal...media is as bad as the famous...its all a bunch of silly stuff anyway...Yea to Brad
Anyone know the brand of jacket he has on in the pic above?
"badly-grazed" knee injury. wow sounds like quite the scab
Note to self: get job as extra on Brad Pitt movie and make sure to fall on your ass.
Pity he wasn't as concerned about that whole 'til death do we part thing. Go buy another baby, Brad. It'll brighten your day.
as long as someone is doin it...who cares! I congrat anyone who helps out children
Brad Pitt is always helping others, mostly behind the scenes. It's nice to see a celebrity that truly cares about others. He's done a lot for the Katrina victims in New Orleans.
Still shouldn't glorify and encourage a man who cheated on his wife with a prettier co-star. Women are not disposable when used, neither are men. A wow is a wow, a promise should be a promise.
he didnt cheat on his wife dummy would everyone get over that jen didnt want kids and thats why they split up all she cared about was her job move on
He's a "dreamboat"? Wow you must be an old wench if you think this wrinkly leatherface is hot.
Btw what did they think was going to happen with 700 extras running in the same direction? Idiots.
The fact that they made headline news makes me believe that it's a PR stunt. Anybody would help someone nearby who falls. Especially when you are a man and the fallen person is a woman/child/elders.
Who cares.
I like alot of Brad Pitt movies, But please people... He "Saved" a woman that fell down on a set with people running. Its not like he saved some one in some kind of natural disaster. People just get so star struck and wish it was them that he saved and get carried away.
london rioters
Wow, he did what any normal human being would do in that situation. Should we give him a lolly pop?
Yes. Yes we should. Free lollipops to anyone who helps another get back up. It's a nice thing to do, and not everyone does.
I wish I were that women
SWOOOOOOOOON!
Excuse me? With respect to Mr. Pitt, why is this a story? It should have been a DOA story. This is nothing like Kate Winslet putting her life on the line to rescue a 90 year old woman from a fire recently. That was newsworthy to me.
Brat Pitt helping an extra to her feet during filming? Sorry, not that interesting to me. Heck, it will probably be in the film, just to bolster the PR. And, that's what this smells like...A cheap PR stunt. Had this been for real, sure, it would mark him as a hero. This marks him and his PR department as attention ho-s.
Here's a hero for ya: Firefighters rushing into a burning building to save lives knowing that they may by laying down their life for a complete stranger. Policemen involved in a firefight to protect lives. A solder throwing himself on a live grenade to save his friends with barely enough time to say good-bye knowing the blast will be instantly fatal. Those are heroes to me.
The fact that they made headline news makes me believe that it's a PR stunt. Anybody would help someone nearby who falls. Especially when you are a man and the fallen person is a woman.
because folks like you and me are reading it...
I think he is an actor one of a kind, anything he does brings the best of a play making people realize the possitive view of things . Anyone can only see goodness throug his eyes ;the eyes are the mirror of the soul,He is One Of A Kind. God Bless U Always!
A woman fell down.
He helped her stand up.
That makes him a hero.
If only he could save the book from being turned into a terrible film.
WOW,
I touched his garment
Loved the book...and this movie cannot get here too soon for my tastes.
He's already a hero for bringing WWZ to the screen. Can't wait for this movie!
"Rescued", or, just kind of, you know, helped up? Anyway, can't get enough of Warren Jeffs? wickedimproper . com
He IS a hero because if he hadn't helped her up she could have been trampled to death. Do I sense a little jealousy here? Brad rocks and I wish he would make a Mr. & Mrs. Smith sequel before Angie retires from acting and just directs or produces. It would be a really great action film. One more time Brad and Angie? PLEASE???
Film gets paused for a safety talk: Now were cookin' with gas. All action films should be paused for a safety talk. Will see this one.
big f'n deal. anyone that's been in a mosh pit ahs doen the same. how is this news? I have no problem with Brad Pitt, 7, 12 monkeys are great movies. Let's stop with this ridiculous idol worship. Brad Pitt had a bowel movement today! Stop the presses! What a big boy! How many people actually did something more for someone on the same day. He gets paid more than enough for his time. Stop kissing his ass so hard.
I'd kiss the hell outta that ass
You are right that anyone might have done it if they had been in the right place at the right time. But it was Pitt in the right place at the right time and he had the presence of mind, while acting, to react as we all hope we would. These things can get hectic and he could just as easily been 'in the part' and remained oblivious. Worse, he could have viewed this woman being trampled as an unexpected enhancement to the scene. Or, realizing that there was a budget and time limitations, could have chosen not to wreck the shot.
But he did the right thing. Good for him. Good for anyone.
To me, the real story was what the director or producer might have said to Pitt when they had to reset and reshoot. Were they heartless sobs and chastise Pitt for doing the right thing or did they do the right thing too. It sounds like they eventually reexamined the scene with a sharper eye to safety.
Please, Please, Please, for the love of God (who may or may not exist), Go to a book store, buy and read World War Z. This book is awesome, and could save your life.
That won't save your life.
But the Survival Guide will.
WWZ is just plain good reading.
OMG you used the word Dreamboat. Please please please CNN, ditch your celeb news division. It's a sorry, unjournalistic distraction, and it needs to go.
Or maybe it would be easier to simply not click your mouse on that section.
Oh bravo! Brad Pitt! Now maybe your fan mail and earnings will top your wife's. Frankly, Brad Pitt!! You have a very strong supporter in my home and that is my younger son. If he has his way he 'll convert our entire apartment into a Brad Pitt fan house. Salams from Karachi.
Brad Pitt is not married.
You are a piece of dung
Wow, you don't think this story was made up, do you?
Also, the book was a piece of dung and the fact that Joe Straczynski is writing the screenplay dooms the film. You guys need to stop kissing Max Brooks' lucky-and-connected-son-of-two-Hollywood-legends' ass.
Between this and the firing of Frank Darabont from "The Walking Dead", we're looking at a disastrous end to the mass popularity of the zombie subgenre. Too bad.
Yeah, yeah, we get it. You have strong opinions. Thanks for sharing. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.
Whoa....they're FINALLY producing this movie. I read the book about 4 years ago and loved it!
And for the sake of all the lovers of Max Brooks excellent book PLEASE PLEASE do not wreck this movie by making it in 3D.
SO agree! I wish they would stop making every move in 3D
You know, you don't have to watch the 3D version. The 2D version is usually cheaper too!
3D is the only reason I'll go to the theater to see a film, rather than wait to watch it at home. 3D rocks.
How about a film in 1-D. Just a straight horizontal line across the screen? Now that's cheap.
Agreed. 3D makes me dizzy.
3D can be a good addition as long as they do it just to enhance the visuals like Avatar or Transformers 3, but i do agree that some directors shouldn't be allowed to use it because they think its cool to throw everything and anything they can at the camera to "show-off" they're 3D.
Todd, that was hilarious!!!
Hey Tod in DC, I have an old tv with the veritical gun out. It'll give you that 1d experience your looking for!
Brad Pitt, Zombie Movie... prayers do get answered!!!
Brief, funny. Thumbs up.
Yeeessss!
good job brad..now just save this movie from its pg 13 rating..zombies deserve better..
Brad Pitt, my hero!!
Anybody nearby at the scene will help.
He can save me anytime ;P
