While you were working...

Today's news you might've missed:

  • The cast for "Magic Mike" keeps, um, beefing up. Yesterday there was a report that Joe Manganiello will play a stripper named "Big Dick Richie" in the Steven Soderbergh-directed flick "Magic Mike," and now comes a report that William Levy - aka, the hottie who had to clarify that he didn't cause the Marc Anthony/J.Lo split - is also in the movie. If you don't recall, "Magic Mike" already stars Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey and Matt Bomer. Plus, it just may have full frontal. Happy Friday! [EW, Just Jared, E!]
  • Some U.K. outlets are reporting that Kanye West is recording a new version of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" in tribute to the late singer. Personally, we would've preferred that he tackle "Valerie," but you know, to each rap superstar his own. [NME]
  • Lady Gaga has announced - via a banner being held by her fans - that she's going to open the MTV Video Music Awards. The performance - pause for dramatic effect -  "means the world" to her. [Billboard]
  • Can you imagine "All My Children" without Susan Lucci? Neither can production company Prospect Park, which made a deal to bring the soap to the Web after it's booted from TV in September, may feel the same way. The network has reportedly made an offer for Lucci to stay with the show. [Deadline]
  • Reason No. 89 it's probably pretty cool to be a Jolie-Pitt baby: You'd get to kick it in a 16th century mansion in Scotland. After taking a chartered train just for you, your entourage and your cricket snacks, of course. [People]
  • Josh Groban is tuning up for "The Office." The singer is set to play Andy's [Ed Helms] younger brother on an episode this fall. [Zap2It]

Bravo to re-edit 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'

The second season premiere date of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" is still up in the air, but producers are definitely re-editing the show in light of the recent tragedy, reports Variety.

Russell Armstrong, the husband of "Housewives" star Taylor, was found on Monday after he committed suicide.

The premiere was originally scheduled to air September 5, and although Bravo has said little this week other than to offer condolences to the Armstrong family, reports circulated that the premiere date would be pushed back by at least a week.

Lady Gaga's a surfer?

If there was one hobby you’d never guess Lady Gaga would be into, it would probably be surfing. But ever the enigma, the pop star was snapped by TMZ catching waves in a black bikini on Tuesday.

"Yeah, that's me," the singer tweeted along with a photo on Thursday. "No heels, baby."

Gaga donned a standard wetsuit and teeny bikini to take on the surf in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Guess she figured a meat dress wouldn’t go over too well with sharks.

Gaga is getting back to work soon; she’s set to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on September 24.

Gerard Depardieu sorry for peeing on plane

French actor Gerard Depardieu has expressed regret for publicly urinating on an airplane earlier this week, reports Access Hollywood.

Actor Edouard Baer, who was traveling with Depardieu during the incident, spoke to the French press on his friend’s behalf. "Gerard was upset at this and offered to clean up the mess," Baer said of the incident in a statement via the BBC.

"He has prostate problems and it was very worrying and humiliating for him," Baer continued. "He was also stone-cold sober at the time. This is not the way he usually behaves."

The actors were en route to Dublin to film “Asterix and Obelix: God Save Britannia” when Depardieu relieved himself on their Cityjet flight after being told he’d have to wait to use the restroom.
