While you were working...Today's news you might've missed:
Photo: Michelle Williams as Marilyn MonroeNew stills from the upcoming movie “My Week with Marilyn” show Michelle Williams doing her best Marilyn Monroe. In a stylized photo released to We Are Movie Geeks shows Williams as the iconic actress, sashaying in sunglasses through a pack of paparazzi. Eddie Redmayne (as Colin Clark) and Dougray Scott (as Arthur Miller) are also pictured. “My Week with Marilyn” is based on the diary of British studio assistant Colin Clark, who spent time with the star during the filming of “The Prince and the Showgirl” in 1956. Dr. Phil to interview George and Cindy AnthonyCindy and George Anthony are ready to speak out about daughter Casey’s trial and the death of their granddaughter Caylee, and they’ve chosen “Dr. Phil” as their outlet, CNN has confirmed. Since their daughter Casey Anthony was acquitted, media outlets have been making interview offers, but the Anthonys felt Dr. Phil was their best option. “We knew that we’d want to speak at some point, and we figured there was no better place than with Dr. Phil," Cindy Anthony explained. "We are hoping that by doing this interview, we will be able to help other people who may be experiencing struggles of their own. We certainly don’t want anyone to experience what we have these last three years.” Jane Velez-Mitchell: When reality TV shows the messy side of lifeReal life is often sloppy, tragic, ugly, embarrassing, unglamorous and not made for TV. That is the sad truth that lurks just outside of camera range, waiting to reveal itself to today’s reality TV culture. Unfortunately, it just got revealed. This just in: It appears Russell Armstrong killed himself. His beautiful, blond wife, Taylor Armstrong, of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” fame had filed for divorce just last month. She claimed he was physically abusive to her. The celebrity gossip sites had a field day. Tara Reid breaks out crop top for weddingTara Reid will live in the '90s forever! Life & Style has an exclusive picture of Reid’s impromptu wedding in Greece, and the 35-year-old “American Pie” alum is showing midriff in a white crop top, accompanied by a long skirt and cardigan. Maybe we can overlook Reid’s casual bridal wear considering the whirlwind nature of the August 13 event. Russell Simmons and Goldie Hawn talk educationHollywood icon Goldie Hawn has lately been a lady about town. The actress recently met up with her pal Russell Simmons (who knew?) who tweeted a pic while they were hanging out yesterday. “Goldie Hawn is in my office on a mission ‘Mind up’ selling Neuro science of learning ‘mindful intelligence,’" the star shared. What does that mean? It turns out MindUP is an educational program through the actress' Hawn Foundation. Adam Levine to 'Idol': Give me a breakAdam Levine may view "American Idol" as a "cultural institution," as he tells Out magazine in its latest issue, but there's at least one thing about the show that sets him off. The "Voice" coach and musician vented to the magazine about what he sees as the Fox show's downplaying of contestants' sexuality. (The network declined to comment on Levine's remarks.) “What’s always pissed me off about 'Idol' is wanting to mask that, for that to go unspoken,” he said. “C’mon. You can’t be publicly gay? At this point? On a singing competition? Give me a break. You can’t hide basic components of these people’s lives. The fact that 'The Voice' didn’t have any qualms about being completely [open] about it is a great thing.” Evan Rachel Wood wants to make you laughAt 23, Evan Rachel Wood is known for turning in powerful dramatic performances, from her turn as a troubled adolescent in "Thirteen" to her role in Robert Redford's historical drama "The Conspirator." And while her portrayal of Veda Pierce in HBO's lauded miniseries "Mildred Pierce" nabbed the actress an Emmy nomination, Wood says there's still one more side that she wants audiences to see more of: her sense of humor. "I would love to do a comedy," she says. "I'm actually...well I don’t think I can talk about it yet. But, hopefully there’ll be a comedy in the future. That’s what I really want to do." Gallery: Surprise celebrity 'I dos'Tara Reid isn't the only one to pull a surprise wedding. The actress' weekend nuptials in Greece came seemingly from out of the blue, and happened so quickly after her engagement that she had to clarify the name of her new husband. It was first reported that she'd tied the knot with her former boyfriend, businessman Michael Lilleund. (For the record, Reid is now married to Zack Kehayov.) We rounded up a few more weddings that caught us off guard in the gallery above. Emma Stone won 2004 'Partridge Family' reality competitionIn 2004, Emma Stone was just plain Emily, fighting for fame on a reality show. The future actress participated on a VH1 series that aimed to create a new "Partridge Family" … and won a role! “In Search of The Partridge Family” saw eight people competing for the roles from the ‘70s sitcom. A brunette Stone was one of eight “Laurie” contestants, who were judged on their singing, acting and resemblance to the original actress. After belting out hits like “We Belong,” “Emily” won the role of Laurie Partridge and filmed a pilot episode for the “The New Partridge Family," according to the Huffington Post.
