Tyler Perry to get his own TV channel?

Tyler Perry fans may soon get an entire TV station filled with nothing but the prolific, multi-hyphenated mogul's work.

According to the New York Times, Perry and movie studio Lionsgate are said to be at work on creating a cable channel called Tyler TV (a working title). Perry and Lionsgate didn't comment, but a source close to the matter said that as of now the channel would provide re-runs of Perry's programming, such as his popular TV shows "House of Payne" and "Meet the Browns" and his Madea films.

Eventually, other programming would be purchased to compliment Perry's brand, which carries some Christian themes.

Alan Ball to bring new series to Cinemax

"True Blood" creator Alan Ball is about to take you from Bon Temps to "Banshee."

The heralded producer is at work on another show, the L.A. Times reports, this time set in a small town named "Banshee" in Pennsylvania Amish Country. While fans of Ball's vampy HBO series have grown accustomed to his signature mix of sex and the supernatural, this show won't have any magical elements.

Instead, it will focus on a mysterious, martial arts expert ex-con who poses as a murdered sheriff and doles out his own particular kind of justice. (Yeah, we're not quite sure what that means either, but that's the description thus far. Stay tuned!)

Ball will executive produce the series, which will be "darkly comic," according to the Times, for Cinemax, but thankfully it's not expected to get in the way of his "True Blood" schedule. Update, 2:48 p.m.: And speaking of "True Blood" - the HBO show is officially getting a 12-episode fifth season, the network announced today.

Picture day for 'The X Factor' cast

The crew of "The X Factor" recently got dolled up for a few promo shots, and the results are causing headlines.

The Daily Mail, for example, noted that Paula Abdul "still has the X Factor" as she "shows off her slender figure in a series of stunning photographs," while Idolator presumed that 49-year-old Abdul is continuing to "age in reverse."

Host Steve Jones and judges Antonio L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell cleaned up rather nicely as well.

What do you think of the promo photos? "The X Factor" debuts on Fox on September 21.

Watch: Harold and Kumar's 3-D Christmas trailer

Did you ever think you'd see Harold and Kumar in 3-D?

Well, it looks like Christmas is coming a little early. The trailer for "A Very Harold and Kumar 3-D Christmas" has been released, and we see that the guys are their same stoner selves - except this time with more holiday cheer.

Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) somehow shoot Santa Claus in the face, and with that, we're off on a yuletide ride...complete with plenty of smoked-out shenanigans.

Neil Patrick Harris is back again playing himself, and while we're pretty sure the 3-D is completely unnecessary, so is the film. As Harold helpfully asks, "Hasn't the whole 3-D thing jumped the shark by now?"

"A Very Harold and Kumar 3-D Christmas" opens November 4.

Jamie Oliver’s UK restaurant ‘smashed up’ in riots

Even celebrity-run establishments aren’t safe in the midst of the British riots. “Food Revolution” host Jamie Oliver's Birmingham restaurant, Jamie’s Italian, was vandalized Tuesday, reports Us Weekly.

"Sadly, my restaurant in Birmingham got smashed up windows all gone whole area closed can't open," Oliver, 36, tweeted to his 1.4 million followers. "Staff and customers all safe!"

Luckily, just nine hours later, Oliver posted that the place "got fixed up quick. Sad for many of the other shop owners, especially the small family run businesses in this climate."

Aretha Franklin sings her way out of a ticket

The Queen of Soul got some R-E-S-P-E-C-T from law enforcement on Monday night, according to the New York Post.

While out to dinner with her entourage at Neely's Barbecue Parlor in New York City, Aretha Franklin noticed a meter maid about to ticket her illegally-parked car. So she did what any reasonable diva would do - she started singing.

After being serenaded, the officer resisted issuing a ticket, and instead passed the star an envelope to autograph.

The restaurant’s owners, Food Network stars Pat and Gina Neely, also recognized the soul singer, and gifted her with a recipe book. Aretha already owned a copy, so she graciously signed the book and returned it.
