Alan Ball to bring new series to Cinemax"True Blood" creator Alan Ball is about to take you from Bon Temps to "Banshee." The heralded producer is at work on another show, the L.A. Times reports, this time set in a small town named "Banshee" in Pennsylvania Amish Country. While fans of Ball's vampy HBO series have grown accustomed to his signature mix of sex and the supernatural, this show won't have any magical elements. Instead, it will focus on a mysterious, martial arts expert ex-con who poses as a murdered sheriff and doles out his own particular kind of justice. (Yeah, we're not quite sure what that means either, but that's the description thus far. Stay tuned!) Ball will executive produce the series, which will be "darkly comic," according to the Times, for Cinemax, but thankfully it's not expected to get in the way of his "True Blood" schedule. Update, 2:48 p.m.: And speaking of "True Blood" - the HBO show is officially getting a 12-episode fifth season, the network announced today. |

Too bad I dont have skinamax... I liked 6 feet under and True Blood is an obsession! Happy to hear HBO re newed for at least one more year! This season is wonderful! It was my favorite of the books and Alan Ball is amazing at chainging things up so they aren't boring for those who red the books.. I love the twists he puts on things!
sounds like crap.
Has anyone heard of the movie 'High-Plains Drifter' with Clint Eastwood....
Murdered Sherrif – own brand of justice....
Just Sayin...
this better not mess up my skinemax viewing, i like blonde babes from mars and all the rest..
The new show sounds good to me. I loved Six Feet Under, though IMHO True Blood has begun to suck hard (no pun intended). It seems like they're just throwing in every supernatural thing they can think of - there'll probably be freakin' ZOMBIES next season. And let's not forget Alan Ball's great movie, American Beauty.
Read the books....those supernatural beings exist in the world of True Blood. There are still more supes we have yet to meet in the show that were in the books.
OK, so I guess I'll subscribe to Cinema also!
It's not appealing subject matter to me personally, but Six Feet Under and True Blood are seriously GREAT shows, so I'll give it a go.
erich2112x A beer and a joint sounds good I haven't done either in a long time.
Oooh, dark comedy, my favorite! Something to look forward to.
I'll definitely check this out cause everything he's done so far has been worth a joint and a beer, so let's keep watching this weird fcker and see what he has in store next.
Portalpunk is really that cheefe dude

ROFLMAO! :-O
DONT FORGE HE DONE DID SIX FEET UNDER BEFORE THIS AND IM FIRST SO I GUESS I GETS A PRIZE
Congratulations on being first, sorry no prize. Thanks for mentioning Six Feet Under. One of the best series and THE best series finale...in my opinion.
Nope, we won't forget he done did it. Thanks, Jed.
