CBS orders 'Bewitched' scriptThe Will Ferrell-Nicole Kidman film version may have been a flop, but CBS wants to try a small screen remake of “Bewitched.” The network has ordered a script from Sony Pictures Television for a potential TV remake of the hit ‘60s show, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The producers behind the 2005 movie – spouses Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher - are lined up to produce the series. Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York (and later Dick Sargent) starred in the original series, which ran from 1964 to 1972. The story, of course, followed a suburban witch (Montgomery) married to an advertising executive (York) who couldn't help using magic in her everyday life. Who should play Samantha and Darrin this time around?

Why does Hollywood have to do this all the time? Are there really no original people in charge anymore? It's bad enough a horrible version of Footloose is about to come out. And to have the people who killed the movie in charge of the show also????
I'm reading everywhere that CBS is looking into casting Jenny McCarthy as the leading role as Sam.

Kelly Ripa (Samantha) and Mark Consuelos (Darren),,,,,,the PERFECT couple to do it! They are married in real life and already have the chemistry. Kelly would be a wonderful Samantha. Wendie Mallick (Hot in Cleveland) as Endora?
Neatalicious ! I really would watch this show. I hope they will not choose minorities as the leads. Other than that, I think it really will be a prtty good show. I Love reruns of the original series. It is a deacent cute show.

Great – I'd LOVE to see this remade on the small screen, if done intelligently. But why on earth would you use the producers of the god-awful 2005 version of Betwitched? That was – simply put – TERRIBLE. It did not honor the integrity of the original at all and made a mockery of the legions of fans of the show. Get all new people – people who can bring something fresh to the idea and dump the lined-up producers who proved their worth with a flop.
