'True Blood' cast adds to It Gets Better campaign

Cast members from HBO’s "True Blood" have filmed a series of PSAs for the It Gets Better Project, an Internet campaign started in September 2010 by columnist and author Dan Savage after a rash of suicides attributed to anti-gay bullying.

The project seeks to give hope to LGBT youth who are harassed for their sexual orientation and has received submissions from celebrities, politicians, and even the staffs of Pixar and Google, all encouraging young people that there is life after high school.

“High school, junior high school – your life hasn’t even started,” says "True Blood" creator Alan Ball. “The people who bully you are people who are so insecure that they have to make other people feel bad so they can feel good and they’re not going to stay with you your whole life.”

Bateman calls ‘The Change-Up’ ‘garbage,’ critics agree

Jason Bateman, star of “The Change-Up,” brings some refreshing honesty to movie promotion. Or (more likely), he’s just using some of the ol’ reverse psychology.

"It's crap,” he said of his body-switching comedy during a recent visit to “The Daily Show.” “The movie's garbage."

But even after trash-talking the flick to Jon Stewart, the actor assures viewers of R-rated laughs. "Here's what I'm going to promise you, is that while it is a tired - some would say, pleasantly familiar - premise...our obligation is to please you post-switch."

Katie Holmes scared off a raccoon... by barking

“Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” star Katie Holmes actually has some experience fending off nocturnal creatures.

While visiting “The Tonight Show,” the actress revealed to Jay Leno that she sent a scared raccoon scurrying.

“I was recently sitting outside, and this raccoon comes right [up to me],” Holmes, 32, said. “I was expecting [it] to be more afraid of me, and I’m staring at it, and he’s staring back like he’s gonna kick my butt!”

So what does one do when going head to head with a raccoon?

“I stood up, and I barked at him,” she said. “And then he ran away!”

Overheard at TCAs: You can't go wrong with J.J. Abrams

Look for lots of changes over at CBS this fall. The network held its annual summer TCA press tour on Wednesday in Beverly Hills and it was all about the evolving landscape.

CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler kicked off the day with the show we've all been talking about, "Two and a Half Men."

She said the new person replacing Charlie Sheen on the show, Ashton Kutcher, will be an Internet billionaire named William Schmidt and that everyone is glad to have Kutcher on board.

Killer Mike: OutKast, Goodie Mob music's coming

It’s been almost 11 years since the world heard an OutKast album that heavily featured both Antwan “Big Boi” Patton and Andre “3000” Benjamin on the same tracks, but the duo has been keeping busy, says Grammy-winning OutKast collaborator Killer Mike.

"It’s very important to me because I’m a fan and I need my OutKast,” Mike told CNN. “There’s a lot of bulls- out here...So when people say ‘get back together,’ I don’t take it like they’re saying they broke up they just mean like, ‘literally, we need that energy!’ That energy only works when there’s two poles, a positive and a negative and energy’s conducted through.”

After 2000’s genre-bending “Stankonia,” the group released the diamond-selling Album of the Year, “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.” It was a project that carried the OutKast name but featured Big Boi and Andre 3000 on two separate solo discs packaged as one.

A first look at the new 'Man of Steel'

For those wondering how the new Henry Cavill would look in the iconic Superman suit, wonder no more.

Warner Bros. Pictures released the first image from the upcoming "Man of Steel," starring Cavill in a new version of the Superman saga, now set for release on June 14, 2013. The movie boasts an all-star cast, including Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner.

First photos tend to set the tone for the film and judging from this, Zack Snyder's film could give us more of a brooding version of the Son of Krypton (perhaps not unlike the recent trailer for "Amazing Spider-Man").
