First look at 'The Hunger Games' castFans of "The Hunger Games," who have been imagining for years what Katniss, Gale and Peeta would look like on-screen, are finally getting a glimpse of the characters. The film's stars - Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson - are all featured in an exclusive shoot in this week's EW. And although some readers have voiced concerns regarding Aussie actor Hemsworth taking on his tall, dark and handsome character, Gale Hawthorne, director Gary Ross says it was a perfect fit. "On first glance he's such a hunk that it's easy to ascribe a hunklike simplicity to him," Ross conceded. "But this is a phenomenally subtle actor, totally in control of what he was doing." Hutcherson told EW that he prepared for the role of baker's son, Peeta Mellark, by putting on 15 pounds of muscle in three weeks. Despite some commenters' initial misgivings about casting announcements, these images look convincing enough to generate even more excitement for the movie, which is set to hit theaters March 23, 2012. To those of you who are upset with the casting choices of Gale and Peeta, who would you rather they choose? Ben Affleck and Matthew Mcconaughey?? I think it's pretty awesome they chose these two. They're a different choice, but a good one. We all have different interpretations of what we perceive a character in a book should look like.

I'm truely disappointed in the cast. Still after seeing some of these "great photos" it just irritates me more how the characters in the book aren't portrayed at all looks wise in these actors. I still love the story line so of course I'll go see the movies but I feel the Hunger Games have been white washed.
they are to old but there no that ol the oldest one is 21 and thats the guy playing Gale. I think the movie will turn out REALLY well and its going to be bigger than Twilight

15 lbs in 3 weeks? Is that a joke? Hutcherson clearly is delusional like many young immature kids. Disappointed in the cast, disappointed in the rating, gonna be lousy and pale in comparison to the books.

Airbrushing them to look like completely different people doesn't really make it okay to choose the cast poorly, EW. Seriously, learn when to back away from the Photoshop.
