What's the verdict: Rebecca Black's 'My Moment'?

Rebecca Black hasn't let naysayers stand in the way of her escalating fame, but the 14-year-old's latest, "My Moment," may not help her transition from being responsible for what was called the worst song ever and into an actual singer.

Reaction to Black's single, which focuses on her rise to fame and where her haters can get off, has ranged from "ugh" and "horrendous" to "it's actually not that bad."

Yet critics focused on another aspect of the song: Regardless of whether you appreciate the track's arrangement, it's not exactly an ideal follow-up to a song that celebrated the days of the week.

Maya Rudolph welcomes a baby boy

Maya Rudolph welcomes a baby boy

This summer's celebrity baby boom continues with "Bridesmaids" star Maya Rudolph, who welcomed a baby boy with director Paul Thomas Anderson on July 3, CNN confirmed.

The couple named their new arrival Jack, and he's "at home and doing great," Rudolph's rep said. Just as they did with Jack's older sisters Pearl, 5, and Lucille, 20 months, they opted to stay in the dark about their baby's sex.

Waiting until the delivery to find out is "kind of fun," Rudolph told David Letterman in 2009. "Because when you're ready to throw in the towel and you've got nothing positive to think about or feel because you're so heavy and you want to float in a pool of salt water to be buoyant, it was nice to have something to look forward to."

If you're looking forward to more Rudolph, her new NBC show "Up All Night," also starring Christina Applegate and Will Arnett, premieres on the network on September 14.

Witnesses, WPIX says, noted that Odom was "devastated" and crying at the scene.

Katy Perry denies claims her relationship is on the rocks

Katy Perry denies claims her relationship is on the rocks

Katy Perry and Russell Brand still have weeks to go before celebrating their first wedding anniversary, but as E! Online notes, recent rumors suggested that the two may not make it that far and are considering a trial separation.

Not quite, Perry tweeted. "Just cause we don't flaunt our relationship doesn't mean there's something wrong w/it," the 26-year-old singer wrote. "Privacy is our luxury. #tabloidsrtrash #gossipisgross."

Of course, it's just one of many rumors that the two are struggling to keep their marriage together after tying the knot last October. Earlier in the year arrived allegations that Perry was seeking a marriage counselor, and after that came gossip that she had cheated on Brand before their wedding, claims that had Perry reportedly seek legal action.

For his part, Russell Brand is backing up the wife. "You tell em Mrs Brand!" the comedian and actor tweeted. "In Britain we're currently dismantling the scum media so I'm not tuned in to their brain-farting."

'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: First look at 'Jersey Shore' season 4

'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: First look at 'Jersey Shore' season 4

Although Italy might not have been excited about the “Jersey Shore” cast filming there, a clip of the cast shooting in Florence is surely giving hardcore fans something to fist pump about.

MTV just released a trailer for the new season, which debuts on August 4. Avid watchers will see the cast take part in their usual antics that we all know and love - despite the language barrier - like clubbing, hooking up and a whole lot of fighting.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of the news we heard about while the gang was taping. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi gets put in “Italian jail” (as Michael "The Situation” Sorrentino calls it) after she hits a police car and sends two cops to the hospital. We also saw the aftermath of the fistfight between The Situation and Ronnie - someone leaves the house on a stretcher - as well as the build-up to the brawl.

Are you excited to watch the new season of “Jersey Shore” as the cast takes on Italy? Let us know what you think below and be sure to watch today's "Showbiz Tonight," exclusively at 11 p.m. ET/PT on HLN.

'The Dark Tower' project gets scrapped

'The Dark Tower' project gets scrapped

"The Dark Tower" can't seem to catch a break.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Universal has pulled the plug on the planned Ron Howard-directed project which would have been a TV series and three-movie adaptation of the Stephen King fantasy Western.

As the story notes, it's the second time the high profile deal has been scrapped, as JJ Abrams and his production company also made an attempt to bring it to the screen.

THR reports that the Howard-helmed deal fell apart because the studio "had a July 15 deadline to commit to the movies or not. All the creatives have been told that the studio couldn't make the financials work."

J. Lo video star: I had nothing to do with breakup

Now that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have announced they're ending their seven-year marriage, everyone's retracing the couple's recent moves to look for clues.

There are some who think the split was foreshadowed on Lopez's latest album "Love?," and not just because of that question mark.

People magazine notes that the record's "Starting Over" refers to the singer's love interest as a "dog" and a "player," with other lyrics that reference "dreams falling apart at the seams." Lopez didn't actually write that song, though, but she did co-write another one: "One Love."

Jayson Williams' wife joins new 'Basketball Wives'

The estranged wife of jailed basketball player Jayson Williams is the latest to be added to the cast of the forthcoming series, "Basketball Wives L.A.," a rep for the VH1 show confirmed to CNN.

Tanya Williams told the New York Post she has shot three episodes so far.

"I signed on to participate in the show to elevate the negative perception . . . that [it] is purposely filled with flighty, overly emotional and senselessly dramatic women," she told the Post via e-mail. "Yes, my life is chaotic, dramatic and surreal, but I am also a businesswoman."
