Idina Menzel's coming back to 'Glee'

Another set of powerhouse pipes are tuning up for "Glee" - according to Deadline, Idina Menzel is coming back with a major storyline for the new season.

The last time we saw Menzel's Shelby Corcoran, she'd been revealed as the biological mother of Lea Michele's character Rachel Berry, but eventually skipped town after adopting the baby born to Quinn (Dianna Agron) and Puck (Mark Salling).

Season 3 sees Corcoran return to McKinley High as a new teacher, just in time to complicate things for former flame Mr. Schue and Rachel. According to Deadline, this plot point could span 10 to 12 episodes.

Said show co-creator Ryan Murphy, "I'm really excited that Idina is joining the family again. We missed her last year and we're glad she's coming back."

Did you miss Menzel as much as Murphy did?

I don't care for her character enough for her to be on that much. I'm fine with leaving it like they left it. also starting the Rachel berry is outta here countdown!!! yes!!!

I love her character and yes I wish she had been in Season 2. It'll be great have her back and see how her story unfolds. I know one thing: she better be singing A LOT!!
