Mila Kunis: I am a TrekkerThere are revealing interviews, and then there are revealing interviews. Mila Kunis revealed to GQ magazine in the August issue that she's a bona fide Trekker. "I got into it later than most people," she said. "But let's not talk about it in the past tense. I'm still a 'Star Trek' fan. You never stop being one."
Kunis went as far as to rank the various "Star Trek" series in order of quality (with "Star Trek: The Next Generation" first), something that she said has been a constant argument between herself and "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane. According to Kunis, her fandom doesn't end there: "I went to the Star Trek Experience in Vegas maybe five years ago. I hung out with a bunch of fake characters inside ['Star Trek: Deep Space Nine' character] Quark's bar." The "Friends with Benefits" star also has a framed signed photo of Leonard Nimoy. "And I've got a bunch of vintage Star Trek figurines given to me by Jason Segel," she says. "God, it's so embarrassing." Star Trek fans owe the existence of all Star Trek except TOS to Star Wars. If not for the success of Star Wars there would have never been a Star Trek:The Motion Picture and without that there would have been no other movies or series. I personally like both. Wholley Mole', I had no idea as a Trekkie I'm supposed to be disdainful of the Trekker's! I thought we were all as 1! At least that is what the shows taught me.:) I'm an "Original" fan to a degree. I got into them in the late 70's re-runs, but I liked Captain Picard & Whoopie's empath character on the Generation show. I also liked the Movies. Are y'all gonna leave me to the Borg, now?? Or worse, the Romulans!?!

Lokai is white on the right side." If all you saw in these series was the special effects, 'history of the federation timeline', and 'command styles', I truly feel sorry for you. Yes, there was an entertainment value, but there was also priceless social commentary. And yes, there were equally timely and pointed social commentaries in more than just the original. And no, not in every episode of any of them.

the next generation was better than standard sci fi, far better acting than TOS (shatner is a horrible actor) many interesting characters, introduction of the borg, the Q continuum, and deep questions about the nature and meaning of humanity mostly through the character of data, TNG is superior to all other star trek series in almost every way

TNG was and always will be the purest form of Star Trek. It is actually the most traditional sci-fi of all the Star Treks. There is one very simple reason for this, it is the only series that Gene Roddenberry really controlled. Insulting TNG is insulting the creator's more personal work. Also, if you don't understand why it's the pure sci-fi of any TV show then you need to read some Phillip Dick and Frank Herbert.
