'Friday Night Lights' will air on ESPN Classic

"Friday Night Lights" will shine on after the critically acclaimed series ends its run on NBC Friday.

The New York Times reports that "Lights" will get a second life on ESPN Classic, which will air the five seasons in reruns.

There will be a season 1 marathon on Thursday and Friday, and then the show will be aired regularly on Thursday nights starting July 21.

    I am so glad that SOMEONE has the good sense to grab this show up...one of THE BEST shows I have ever watched....seriously, when most of the options are IDIOTS and DRUNKS looking for their 15 minutes, this show is absolutely one of the best. SHAME on NBC for dropping it......guess they need the time slot for some more STUPID REALITY CRAPFEST.

    This show is great litteraly the only tv show i watch wish the tv companys knew how great this show can be would be awesome for a large texas tv station to takeover and keep it alive in texas

    the show has been over for about 3 months now i watched it on directv nbc got to show it after the last 2 seasons have been on directv first and then on nbc.i liked the way it ended

    Best show to be on television in recent years. How about they just keep the show running as opposed to selling the rights to every channel between 1-99. It is clear they have a fanbase....

    These family shows are wonderful– Pease keep them up and Please find that Kyle Chandler another series, what a pleasant looking young man. Such a convincing actor, in any thing, he does.

    So glad to hear this!! ABC Family started re-running the 5 seasons, and then abrubtly stopped in season 2! Love this show and I'm terribly sad to see it go off the air!
