Kenny Powers isn’t the best at keeping friends, but he’ll find a new one in Jason Sudeikis.
The "Saturday Night Live" cast member and star of “Horrible Bosses" is set to play a recurring role on "Eastbound & Down’s" third season, Variety reports. Sudeikis will play Shane, a friend of ex-Major League Baseball player Powers (played by Danny McBride). According to TV Guide, early casting reports peg Shane as a “gullible and enthusiastic baseball player.”
Somehow we don’t think this will go over well with Powers' most loyal friend, Stevie Jankowski (Steve Little), but we’ll just have to see how it all plays out.
In season three, Powers returns home to Shelby, North Carolina, after a stint of playing ball in Mexico. With the arrival of Sudeikis, we started to wonder who else we would like to see make an appearance on "Eastbound & Down’s" final season. Here are a few folks on our wish list - feel free to share yours.
Charlie Sheen - Question his sanity? Sure. Question his baseball chops? Not a chance. Before he went all tiger blood and Adonis DNA on us, Sheen starred in the "Major League" films and more recently, took batting practice with the Georgia Tech baseball team. Sheen could play KP’s long lost, equally-as-delusional brother.
James Franco – James Franco does it all, and so while we’re not quite sure what he’d do on "Eastbound & Down," there’s no doubt he could pull something off.
Lindsay Lohan – KP is a bad boy, and for better or worse, Lindsay Lohan is a Hollywood bad girl. With that said, Lilo can act when she wants to and has proven her comedic competence before.
Dennis Haysbert – It’s about time we yank Haysbert from his All-State duties and put him back in his most iconic role, Pedro Cerrano. Yes, this might be a stretch, but the black magic practicing slugger of the "Major League" films could be the perfect fit for "Eastbound & Down’s" world of the deranged athlete. Besides, a cameo from Jobu would be classic.
