Missy Elliott: Graves' disease didn't slow me downIf you haven’t seen Missy Elliott out and about over the past three years, it’s because you didn’t know where to look. The hip-hop artist has released a statement clarifying that while she does suffer from the autoimmune disorder Graves' disease, it didn’t cause her to press pause on her career. Elliott reveled earlier that she was diagnosed with the disease, which affects the thyroid, in 2008, and saw it impact her motor skills and lead to hair loss, bulging eyes, a rapid heart rate and dizzy spells. 'The Voice' has invaded Carson Daly's dreamsNo doubt “The Voice” has become a dream come true for NBC execs, but host Carson Daly says he had doubts it’d become such a bonafide hit. “When NBC pitched the idea to me… It just didn’t sound like my sort of thing,” he tells Vanity Fair. “I know that reality TV has definitely evolved and become more interesting over the last few years, but I was still reluctant. And then I watched the original Dutch version, and yadda yadda yadda, I just fell in love with the format.” And these days, as “The Voice” winds down to its finale next week, Daly is even dreaming up ways to turn it into another franchise. Stephen Colbert releases 'Charlene II' on iTunesThe White House may have shut down "The Colbert Report's" plan to air a naturalization ceremony next week, but Stephen Colbert hasn't lost his singing spirit. The late night host has spent the week rocking out with what he’s called Stephest Colbchella, and if you tuned into Colbert’s Comedy Central show on Thursday you got a taste of his performance of “Charlene II (I'm Over You),” backed by The Black Belles. He could've left it at that, but Colbert is bringing his music to the masses and has become a recording artist with Jack White’s Third Man Records. MTV: We're not recasting 'Jersey Shore'Love it or not, it looks like Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi isn’t leaving the “Shore” just yet. Reports have been bounced around saying that the current “Jersey Shore” cast will be replaced with new, less expensive members after season 5 wraps, but MTV says it isn't breaking up with the original Seaside Heights crew. A spokesperson for the network told the Hollywood Reporter, "We love the present cast, and their summer adventures have just begun. We currently have no plans to recast the show.” Lindsay Lohan: I'm being responsibleRegardless of how things may look, Lindsay Lohan says she's serious about turning her troubled situation around. The 24-year-old – who walked away from a court appearance Thursday without jail time – told TMZ, "I am responsible, and I'm following the rules and obeying my judge and the Los Angeles judicial system." TMZ adds that Lohan is reportedly blaming her failed test on tea, not the consumption of beer, wine or liquor. 'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: J.Lo might leave 'Idol'Jennifer Lopez became a favorite on this season of “American Idol” as she won over the audiences with her compassion and nurturing judging of the contestants. Many people said that J.Lo’s role on “Idol” revitalized her music career and her likeability. But now Jennifer is saying that she might not return to “American Idol” next season because she has so many other commitments and movie roles coming up. So would this move be brilliant or bananas? I think the idea of Jennifer Lopez not returning to “Idol” is just bananas. I say work out your schedule Jennifer, because the show was great for you and you were great for the show! What do you think? Let me know below. Four go home on 'SYTYCD'I knew it was coming, and yet I still wasn't prepared for it. Due to last week's non-results show, Thursday night's episode had the judges taking on the unenviable task of eliminating four out of the six dancers in danger. The first two couples in danger - Missy and Wadi, Iveta and Nick - were predictable. I was fully prepared for Clarice and Jess to join them in the bottom three, but it was Ricky and Ryan instead! Elijah Wood's 'Wilfred' a bizarre gemAfter watching Thursday night's premiere of "Wilfred," I'm not sure there's enough to sustain a long-term series, but there's more than enough to keep me watching. Elijah Wood stars in FX's remake of the critically acclaimed Australian series of the same title. Co-creator Jason Gann reprises the role of Wilfred, a dog who is seen by Wood's character, Ryan, as a man in a dog suit. The show began with Ryan trying, unsuccessfully, to kill himself by swallowing a cocktail mixed with medication. At one point, he was interrupted by the yammering of what he believed to be his neighbor's boyfriend. Cameron Diaz: Through the yearsThe more things change, the more Cameron Diaz stays the same. The 38-year-old actress looks just as fresh-faced in her newest flick, "Bad Teacher," out Friday, as she did when she made her Hollywood debut in 1994's "The Mask." Kim K. gets X-ray to prove her butt's realKim Kardashian’s ample backside has oft been the subject of a “is it real or is it fake?” guessing game, and now the 30-year-old reality TV star is trying to set the record straight. On an upcoming episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” the soon-to-be Mrs. Humphries headed to the doctor for an X-ray to prove that her tush is implant-free. In a promo clip for the show, Kim explains to her physician that her sisters "dared me to get a butt X-ray, because there are so many rumors that I have butt implants, and I'm so tired of them." |
