Courteney Cox shows off her Malibu estate in Elle Decor

Real estate of the rich and famous

There’s plenty of room for friends at Courteney Cox’s Malibu pad.

The actress tells Elle Décor in the July/August issue that, after growing up with 20 first cousins and having a Sunday dinner ritual at her grandmother's house, she’s still accustomed to rounding up loved ones for weekly celebrations.

Situated on two acres, the estate has guest cottages, a tennis house and court, plus a saltwater swimming pool.

The look she was going for, Cox tells Elle Décor, was “modern barn” – and with renovations, she’s created a space that’s “exactly how I want to live.”

After all of her renovation work, the “Cougar Town” star isn't seeking to part with the property anytime soon, but there are one or two stars trying to cash in on their casas – Charlie Sheen is one of them.

The actor has listed his 7,924-square-foot Beverly Hills home for $7.2 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Located in Mulholland Estates, the mansion - perhaps better known as Sheen's "Sober Valley Lodge" - includes five bedrooms and seven baths, and is described as an "entertainer's dream with spacious public rooms, most of which open to a beautifully landscaped yard featuring a professional outdoor kitchen with dining area, pool and spa.”

Meanwhile, Ellen DeGeneres may also be looking to make a sale – according to Curbed, the daytime talk show host and wife Portia have reportedly put their Beverly Hills compound on the market. Rumor has it that DeGeneres snapped up the main house for $29 million, and then the couple spent another $19 million to purchase adjacent mansions.

Candy Spelling, widow of famed TV producer Aaron Spelling, has also put her $150 million Beverly Hills estate on the market – the highest-priced house in the U.S. – and it's all set to be sold to 22-year-old Formula One heiress Petra Ecclestone, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The expansive 57,000-square foot space comes complete with a bowling alley, a beauty salon, gift-wrapping rooms, a flower-cutting hall, a china room, a dog grooming room and five bars.

Across the pond, J.K. Rowling is demolishing another expensive property so she can build a garden.

According to the U.K.’s Telegraph, the “Harry Potter” author has received permission to knock down a £1 million home next to her own mansion so that she can expand her outdoor space, creating a “Renaissance-style garden” with a greenhouse.

Dog grooming is not simply an aesthetic bonus for our canine friends. Maintaining a regular grooming schedule will help to keep your dog both happy and healthy. Routine dog grooming will ensure that your dog is free of parasites, has healthy skin and a shiny coat, and has good dental health. Of course, the aesthetic benefits are also a plus. Only a true dog lover wants to be around a dirty, stinky dog with bad breath. Proper dog grooming will bring out the best in man’s best friend. ;:

Candy Spelling's mansion is my favorite Beverly Hills house. This home is huge and includes a beauty salon, a china room, a dog grooming room and five bars. It is rumored that a real estate agent called michaellibow is helping Candy to sell the property. I would love to live in this fantastic house!

Who really cares what these celebrities waste their money on.Unless it affects us personally who cares.I am sure we waste our money on something we shouldn't.I am willing to admit that I have bought shoes or some piece of clothing that I didn't wear when I got it home.Unless these celebrities invest some of their money that too will run out one day when they quit working.Money eventially does unless you invest and that will go to taking care of yourself when you get old.

I have no problem with rich people doing whatever they want with their $. Many Hollywood stars are very generous to charities & conscious of the disparities in todays society. I do have a problem with the rich being coddled & catered to by butt smooching politicians. They get tax breaks & we get every program our tax $ has payed for cut & slashed to the bare minimum! Education, womens healthcare & emergency services are some necessities that have landed on the chopping block this year! It makes me feel like no one is standing up for the average citizens anymore, because everyone's so bedazzled by wealth & fortune! I'm seeing prices rise, while my salary can't keep up. We do work & work but have very little to show for it, & I'm tired of "sacrificing" on the premise of saving the economy, when those who have more than they need are exepmpt & get to frolic without a care! That's twisted & wrong!!

I say – let the rich and famous enjoy – why the hell not? They work very hard. They also play hard, and that is what people object to. I think that it really depends when they had money to their name. It is so sad when you see famous people peak in their 20's and have to struggle by the time they are 30 something or even forty something. Save a good chunk of your money, in case you change your mind and you want to live elsewhere or in a different life style altogether. The idea is to gain that independence for yourself for a life time – not burn out in 10 years. Kardashians can I guess keep getting married when they run out of money. No class at all, but we've always had gold diggers.

People in Hollywood can struggle for DECADES before making it big. And for every one big $$$ maker there are hundreds more waiting tables. Its a rough life. Some are just blessed enough to be at the right place, at the right time. I'm sure all you negative commenters would trade your lives for theirs in a heartbeat. Hollywood isn't easy to navigate!

You know, all this horrible actress's and singers, and "rich famous people" at very earliest stages of their lives, were
struggling to make it..and for most of them,it took a while to make that kind of money, now ofcourse, when they do start earning such huge sums of money..perhaps they lose the sight of the fact that ..money doesnt last for ever..if unplanned purchases are made to keep with "the jones"..and often this is what happens..most of them end up
broke or near broke towards end of their lives.Hopefully there are newly rich who are keenly aware of this facts.
