If there's one thing people remember about last year's season of "So You Think You Can Dance," it's all the injuries, especially Alex Wong (judge/executive producer Nigel Lythgoe is still addressing questions about it).
Lythgoe and fellow judge Mary Murphy answered more questions on Tuesday at a "SYTYCD" event on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, and Lythgoe told iReporter Chris Morrow that - despite a change in the show's format that producers hoped might limit injuries - they already have their first dancer sitting out an episode this year.
"A shoulder has been popped, so one of our boys will not be performing," he said. "Mitchell (Kelly), who is injured will take a week off."
Lythgoe added that last year's top three contender (and potential all-star?) Robert Roldan will dance with Mitchell's partner instead.
With quite a few skilled tap-dancers this season, Lythgoe also said that tap routine pairings are certainly possible as well: "We'll put in samba or tap, and if both people can tap, then they'll do the tap."
Check out more of Lythgoe and Murphy's interview below:
He will be alright we pray he has some fans that are pulling for him. "Dance for your Life Mitchell when you do get back up on the dance floor". I agree with the Brady the guys are just as good as the females if not better. To me Mitchell has great technique and he shows that he really loves to dance.
This is a great show – the dancers are so talented. Nigel keeps saying the girls are the best. There are indeed some great female dancers but the guy are wonderful! I am very happy they went back to 20 dancers instead of 10!
He would make good kweer-bait.
So you think you can....oops! Ah man!
Drip drip drip
he slipped in some doodoo and fell
Wow...such a pretty boy.
His next job will be mens room attendant at the gay bar.
