While Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal’s movie about the mission to take out Osama bin Laden has snapped up distribution rights, according to Vulture Relativity Media is placing its spotlight on a different player in the story: the Navy SEALs.
But the studio isn't just working on a film that will focus on Navy SEALs - they're also planning to cast some.
Called “Act of Valor,” the story will follow a team of Navy SEALs as they attempt to rescue a kidnapped CIA agent and eliminate terrorists along the way. The script is also expected to contain recounts of battles the SEALs starring in the film have actually fought.
“300’s” Kurt Johnstad is on board to write the script with Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh directing the film, which is slated to arrive in 2012.
