Lady Gaga's album has steep drop in sales

After last week's strong sales debut, Lady Gaga's album "Born This Way" has seen a sharp decrease in sales.

The superstar's record sold more than a million copies in its first week, but for week two only 174,000 were sold, according to Billboard.

Of course, Lady Gaga's album was on sale for just 99 cents not once but twice after its May 23 release thanks to Amazon, which was offering "Born This Way" at the deep discount along with storage space for the Amazon cloud player service.

Neil Patrick Harris on his Tonys game plan

Neil Patrick Harris on his Tonys game plan

Neil Patrick Harris won an Emmy after hosting the 63rd annual Tony Awards, and now that he’s back for round two he’s got his game plan all worked out.

The key to doing an award-worthy hosting job, he says, is to stay more or less sober, and stay out of the way.

“I feel like when you’re hosting a show, you don’t want to be so egocentric that you make the show about you, so the job is to do something initially that makes them feel comfortable with you, and then pass the buck,” he told Access Hollywood on Thursday.

Russell Crowe on circumcision tweets: I'm very sorry

Russell Crowe on circumcision tweets: I'm very sorry

After launching into an anti-circumcision discussion on Twitter, Russell Crowe has offered a mea culpa.

The Oscar winner found himself in a heated exchange with his followers on Thursday after he tweeted, "Circumcision is barbaric and stupid. Who are you to correct nature?” in response to a follower who seemed to be asking for his opinion on the subject. "My son is due soon," the Twitter user, picknic11, wrote. "Do you think I should get him circumstanced?'

She later clarified that it was a joke. "So, um, my little lame joke to Russell Crowe seems to have blown up a bit," the user wrote. "For the record, I was not asking Russell for parenting advice, I was making A JOKE. A joke about one word that sounded a bit like another."

Jennifer Hudson suffers food poisoning

Jennifer Hudson suffers food poisoning

Jennifer Hudson was all smiles in the photo above during her performance at ABC's "Good Morning America Summer Concert Series" on Friday, but that soon changed.

A rep for the Academy Award-winning singer confirmed that Hudson fell ill and was taken to a New York City hospital.

“After performing on ‘Good Morning America’ earlier today, Jennifer Hudson went to the hospital due to severe abdominal pains," the rep said in a statement. "She was treated for food poisoning and released.”

Hudson performed in Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield for "GMA" before she got sick, but a second performance slated for CBS' "Early Show" had to be canceled. The newly svelte Hudson has been promoting her new album, "I Remember Me" which features the debut single "Where You At."

Who made the 'SYTYCD' top 20?

Who made the 'SYTYCD' top 20?

Thursday night's episode of "So You Think You Can Dance" revealed this season's top 20 (and not a top 11, thankfully) in a different way, combining the "big reveal" episode with the "showcasing the styles of the top 20" episode into one, and I think it really worked.

This year's finalists were announced in groups based on their styles, so first up were some contemporary dancers, who performed a Stacey Tookey routine:

  • Sasha Mallory: As I thought when they first auditioned, she made it through, and her sister Natalia did not. But I have a feeling Natalia will be back. Also, I was surprised that they announced this so early in the episode. Sasha has a good shot at winning, but not as good as Natalia might have had.

The site links out to a note on the Facebook page of Kevin Rogers titled "Why I No Longer Like Tracy Morgan" in which Rogers details what he said happened at the show. FULL POST

MTV cancels 'Skins'

MTV cancels 'Skins'

Surprise, surprise: MTV’s controversial show “Skins” won’t be back for a second season.

The program was adapted from the hit U.K. version, and the network says that it just never caught on stateside.

“‘Skins’ is a global television phenomenon that, unfortunately, didn’t connect with a U.S. audience as much as we had hoped,” MTV said in a statement to Deadline. “We admire the work that the series’ creator Bryan Elsley did in adapting the show for MTV, and appreciate the core audience that embraced it.”

Alec Baldwin: Weiner's just a busy, modern man

Alec Baldwin: Weiner's just a busy, modern man

As U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner deals with the fallout from his lewd-photo debacle, Alec Baldwin is offering his take on the fiasco.

In a piece on the Huffington Post, the “30 Rock” star explains that Weiner, who admitted to sexting with women outside of his marriage, is likely a busy guy who's living in a “pressure cooker of self-analysis and public appraisal” because of his chosen profession. As a result, Baldwin says, he’s got to do something “to take the edge off.”

“For high functioning men like Weiner and other officials who have lived through such scandals, who are constantly on the go, that leaves one tried and true source of a reliable high,” Baldwin writes. “The affirmation that comes when someone lets you know they want to sleep with you. Or even cyber-sleep with you. This is sex for many people now.”

Andrew Gold, who’s responsible for the 1970s hit “Lonely Boy” - which was featured in flicks like “Boogie Nights” and “The Waterboy” - died on June 3.

The 59-year-old singer-songwriter also penned “Thank You for Being a Friend,” the song that introduced NBC’s “The Golden Girls” throughout the show’s seven seasons. Not only is “Thank You for Being a Friend” easily recognized as the sitcom’s theme song, it also tends to get stuck in your head - the true test of a genius opening tune.
