Ready for a new season of 'SYTYCD'?It's that time of year again. The sun is beating down, the days are getting longer and "American Idol" is over. Somewhere in the distance you can hear a woman screaming about the "hot tamale train." That's right, Thursday night begins a brand new season of "So You Think You Can Dance." (And never fear, judge Mary Murphy is back!) It all kicks off with the Atlanta auditions, which CNN got a sneak peek of back in February. Producers say that they were very impressed with the talent they saw there (we personally witnessed a few getting their tickets to Vegas, and the ensuing celebration). The two-hour premiere will then move on to Oakland, California. Christine Taylor talks 'Zoolander' sequelBack in October, Marquee reported that a "Zoolander" sequel was in the works in which Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and Hansel (Owen Wilson) would find themselves coping with life as aging supermodels. So when can we expect to see the Blue Steel back on screen? "They're really trying to make it happen and get everybody on board for it," Stiller's wife, actress Christine Taylor tells Vulture. "I feel like nobody wants to make it more than Ben, so he's driven. I hope it happens." Taylor, who played Zoolander's love interest, journalist Matilda Jeffries, also hints that she may return for a second round. Gaga's 'Born This Way' available for 99 cents...againUpdate, 5/26: Did you miss out on the deep discount Amazon was offering on Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" on Monday? Well, since the rush to download the entire album for less than the price of an individual song on iTunes crashed Amazon's servers, the online retailer is again offering the deal today. It's not quite free .99, but it'll do. Lady Gaga’s much-hyped album “Born This Way” officially arrived today, and although the album is going for $11.99 on iTunes, you can also buy it for about a dollar on Amazon. According to Mashable, this isn't the first time Amazon has slashed prices, but it may be one of the Web retailer's more surprising sales: "Born This Way" can be purchased in its entirety along with its digital booklet for just 99 cents, a price that seems to be only for today. You do have to purchase it as an MP3 download to score the deal, one that's presumably part of a promotion for Amazon's Cloud Player. Along with the MP3 purchase, you get a free 20 GB of storage on the service and, as Amazon notes, about $12.87 in savings on Gaga's latest work. 'Biggest Loser' winner: Ready to go forwardOlivia Ward didn't know what to expect when she stepped foot on "The Biggest Loser" ranch last year. "I thought I would do some working out, get some information and lose weight," Ward said. "I didn't realize it would be that difficult. Six to eight hours of exercise every day. It was like 'Groundhog Day.'" The 35-year-old opera singer overcame those difficulties to win the 11th season of the NBC show. Ward, who began the show weighing 261 pounds, lost nearly half her starting weight, finishing at 132 pounds. How to dress like Zach GalifianakisZach Galifianakis’ brightly colored t-shirt in “The Hangover Part II” frankly looks a little rank, but if you like his style, you can have a yellow dog shirt of your own. The short-sleeved cotton top, emblazoned with a Labrador on the front, was found on CafePress.com by the “Hangover’s” costume department, and can be yours for $20. Sizes run from small to 2XL, although that size will run you an additional $3.
Depending on your lifestyle, you too could wear it as you try to piece together what happened during a prior night’s wild, drunken festivities, maybe even while in Thailand(!). “The Hangover Part II” is in theaters now, however we would advise against wearing a yellow Lab t-shirt to the theater. Heart-warming, hilarious finale for 'Modern Family'"Modern Family" has really rallied to the finish line these last few weeks after a rough patch here and there. Wednesday night's season finale used the inventive method of showing the raw footage of Haley and Alex's video for Jay's birthday to remind us of all of the high points this season. I caught the Halloween episode, "Clive Bixby" in the Valentine's Day episode, "Slow Down Your Neighbors," Phil's battle with the smoke detectors, Gloria's barking neighbor dog (complete with "Jay!!!"), Mitchell rehearsing for the flash mob, and Cam preparing to save the day as Fizbo. Everything worked about this episode: MVP of the week Jay's birthday plans getting interrupted but Manny's sweet idea of fishing in the swimming pool; Mitchell and Claire's disastrous attempt to re-create a photo ("Where'd you get a sailor suit on short notice?"); and Phil pretending Gloria was his wife to impress a friend (the always-funny Rob Huebel). Nice guy finishes first again on 'Idol'We have so been here before. Cute, clean cut all-American guy drives the girls crazy and takes the "American Idol" championship. That's what happened Wednesday night when Scotty McCreery, a 17-year-old, deep-voiced, supermarket bagboy from Garner, North Carolina, won Season 10 of "American Idol." Ever since he crooned "Baby, lock them doors and turn the lights down low" during his audition in Milwaukee, McCreery consistently had the support of fans and "Idol" judges who praised him every week. FULL POST The Throwback: 'Wonka' star talks 40th anniversaryActress Julie Dawn Cole was 12 when she was cast as bratty Golden Ticket winner Veruca Salt in the classic 1971 film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." The movie is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and Cole has just released a book entitled "I Want it Now!" The scrap book-style memoir features Cole's memories from the set and loads of details that will satisfy even the most die-hard "Wonka" nerd's sweet tooth. CNN spoke to Cole, who gave us gobs of sweet details about on-set crushes, her dislike of chocolate (say it ain't so!), unlikely "Wonka" fans, saved mementos, and of course - Oompa Loompas! Kim K. and Snooki face their 'H8R's' in CW clipsThe premise behind the CW’s new reality show “H8R” is simple: Take a celebrity’s most passionate “hater,” give them the opportunity to confront said celebrity face-to-face and see what happens. The show, hosted and executive produced by Mario Lopez, is coming to the CW in the fall, and the network has posted clips of what to expect. In one of them, diminutive “Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi barrels into a bar ready to take on her hater – some guy named Nick who apparently went on a rant about Snooks, calling her a “wannabe Italian” and a “drunken slob.”
Cheryl Cole dropped from 'X Factor' already?Just as she was about to make it big in America, Brit beauty Cheryl Cole has been dropped from "The X Factor." The former Girls Aloud singer, who appeared as a judge on the U.K. edition of the singing competition, officially signed on to the Fox series in early May, joining Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and music producer L.A. Reid on the panel. Now, TMZ reports that the show's creators have changed their tune and ousted Cole. |
