Singer, actress and cultural icon Cher turns 65 today (you read that right) and we are sending birthday wishes her way.
Before Lady Gaga was born this way, Cher was shocking and offending people by strutting around in revealing outfits and speaking her mind.
It's hard to believe that the woman who sang "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" and thrilled audiences with the toss of her long, black mane on "The Sonny and Cher Comedy" hour back in the 1970s is firmly in the throes of senior citizenship, but it's true.
Not that she appears to be slowing down at all. She's still acting, as she did recently in last year's film "Burlesque," and in February ended her "Cher at the Colosseum" series of concerts at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas (much to the sadness of drag queens everywhere).
