Ashton Kutcher is coming back to TV - as Charlie Sheen's replacement on CBS’ hit “Two and a Half Men.”
Ashton even teased his army of more than six million Twitter followers with this coy message: "what’s the square root of 6.25?” The answer is 2.5, as in “Two and a Half.”
I like Ashton Kutcher a lot, and I’m guessing he’ll be a success in the new role. He’s a great comic actor and has years of experience working on a very funny sitcom (“That ‘70s Show”). Still, I don’t know if Ashton’s the greatest fit. Hugh Grant, John Stamos and Jeremy Piven were all floated as possible replacements for Sheen on “Men.”
Hugh Grant actually almost wound up with the job. He’s another bad boy, like Sheen, and might have fit the mold of “Men” a little better. But maybe the show’s producers are looking for something new. What do you think about Ashton Kutcher replacing Charlie Sheen?
I also want to tell you that Nick Cannon’s breaking big news to us tonight. Mariah Carey’s husband is revealing the secrets behind the unusual names of the couple's newborn twins, Moroccan Scott and Monroe. Do not miss this headline-making "Showbiz" Newsmaker interview.
Other big stories we’re fired up about on the show today: Matthew Perry is returning to rehab and the great “American Idol” debate: Will a woman win it all?
Plus, with it being Friday and all, we’re naming "Showbiz Tonight’s" Most Provocative Celebrity of the Week. And the nominees are (drumroll, please): Pippa Middleton (for stealing the spotlight from her royal sister), Will Smith (the whole monster-movie-trailer-parked-in-New-York-City thing) and Lindsay Lohan (and her reduced jail sentence). Who do you think it should be? Vote here.
