'Beastly' star joins Channing Tatum stripper movieApparently Brit bad boy Alex Pettyfer's recent interview in which he bashes Hollywood hasn't hurt his career. The "Beastly" star has just been cast as a young stripper in the upcoming movie "Magic Mike," according to Deadline. As Marquee previously reported, the film, directed by Steven Soderbergh ("Ocean's Eleven," "Traffic") will star Channing Tatum, whose real-life experience as a 19-year-old exotic dancer at a Tampa club served as inspiration for the story. In "Magic Mike," Tatum will play a veteran dancer who teaches a newcomer (Pettyfer) how to hustle both on and off the stage. The movie promises to be packed with pecs, partying and women. "When Channing talked to me about this, I thought it was one of the best ideas I'd ever heard for a movie," Soderbergh has said. "It's sexy, funny and shocking. We're using 'Saturday Night Fever' as our model, so hopefully we're on the right track."
