Canceled soaps among Daytime Emmy Award nomineesIt will be the last go round for a few of the shows nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards. The awards were announced on Wednesday, and the recently canceled "All My Children" received a nod for outstanding drama series along with "The Bold and The Beautiful," "General Hospital" and 'The Young and the Restless." In total "All My Children" scored 13 nominations, with several of them being in various acting categories. The canceled "One Life to Live" received 12.In the talk show categories, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," "Rachael Ray, "Live With Regis and Kelly" and "The View" were nominated for outstanding talk show/entertainment, and "Doctor Phil," "The Dr. Oz Show" and "The Doctors" were nominated for outstanding talk show/informative. Game show hosts Alex Trebek and Pat Sajak will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. PBS led the networks with 57 nominations, followed closely by ABC with 56 and CBS with 42. Wayne Brady will host the 38th Daytime Emmy Awards, which is scheduled to air live on CBS on June 19 from the Las Vegas Hilton. For a full list of nominees visit EmmyOnline.org. |
