Reality TV seems to be leaving its mark on a newborn generation. According to Time, it looks like MTV's hit "Teen Mom" is doubling as a baby name book.
The first name of “16 & Pregnant” and then “Teen Mom” star Maci Bookout and the name of her son, Bentley, had the two biggest jumps in popularity this year, although they didn't quite make it into the top 10.
The names that did, however, could have easily been pulled from the “Twilight Saga."
The top name for baby girls this year was “Isabella,” also known as the first name of "Twilight's" protagonist, who goes by Bella. This is the second year in a row that the name has landed in the top 10, and some are fingering “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer as the cause.
The name of Bella's wolfish friend, Jacob, is also the No. 1 pick for baby boys, but it’s been among the top 10 favorite names for the past 12 years, so just how much “Twilight” has to do with that is questionable.
If people really are using "Twilight" as inspiration, not even a sparkly vampire could make them love the name Edward - the name is nowhere to be found in the top 10 list for baby boys.
