'Showbiz Tonight' Flashpoint: Does controversy overshadow Gaga's talent?Gaga’s brand-new controversial video for her single “Judas” has finally been released. There has been a lot of speculation about how shocking and potentially offensive it would be. In the video, Gaga stars as Mary Magdalene leading a motorcycle gang on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. When I interviewed Bill Donahue, President of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, back in April, I asked him what his issue with the “Judas” song was. (I can only imagine what he thinks of the video today!) Donahue told me, “I’m not going to sit here and pretend she doesn’t know what she’s trying to do. I mean, look, it’s not the worst thing in the world. But she’s trying to tweak Catholic sensibilities. Let her try it on Muslims and see what she does then at that point.”
So today we’re asking if this controversy could hurt Gaga. I have always felt that it’s a package deal with her. She is who she is – and needs to just keep doing what she’s doing. There are no real signs that all this controversy has hurt her at all. What do you think? Tell me below. Some other big stories we’re fired up about on the show today… Jesse James may be named "Showbiz Tonight’s" Most Provocative Celebrity of the Week, and did Donald Trump fire himself?! When I was a kid, Alice Cooper had a faux female corpse named Cold Ethel, he kept in a refrigerator on stage, and sung songs like " I love the dead". He'd pull her out and dance with her live. Then we had Marilyn Manson, Death Metal, Twisted Sister and on and on. Nothing new here. Kids grow up and out of this folly eventually. In my Fathers day, they were "Juvenile Delinquenst" every body thought would destroy decent society.... Now they (mostly) are business men, fathers, family men etc. who ride Harleys on the weekends and relive their early memories of Freedom, youth and Tuff guys. Here's to the Bliss of ignorant Youth, Rebellion and the Freedom to be young in America. Get it while you can, They'll have plenty of time to be grown up soon enough.

She uses the so called shock value as a cover when her music/videos arent that good. So even if the music is bad or not a good seller she still gets attention. The controversy doesnt over shadow her talent. She uses it to her advantage to take the attention away from whats bad and still beable to stay in the spotlight.
I dedicate this song to all the lovely lovely ladies out there in the trailerpark:
You dont want to be
with anybody else
You should think of me
when you touch yourself
When you chew tobacco
and spit on the floor
I just might come a nockin
on yoir door.
.
I like her weiner. It is her best feature.
Gaga is baby food for toddlers as far as her music is concerned. A pureed blend of mush that's easy to swallow and comes out the other end looking the same as it went in. You "Little Monsters who worship Gaga are being laughed at by everyone with a brain.
And, hopefully, being bullied in the hallways of their schools.
Oh, puhleeezzze! Let's not pretend we havent seen Madonna portray this controversy before. I say it aint nuttin new. It's all a rehash, but I'd say pretty clever
Crap will always try to pass itself off as art, but it's still crap. The sad part is all you little monsters who thinks this clown is so worty of your worship. She only wants your money!
Controversy cannot overshadow talent if talent does not exist...she is a poor excuse for a run of the mill pop-star who thinks she is better than her counterparts because she likes to dress weird...if your songs are bad pop then bad pop is all you will ever be, no matter how you dress
Controversy is her only talent.
This woman is the biggest, loudest, whiniest, most annoying cry for attention in the world right now. Everything she does is for shock value and it's all stupid.
Anyone who is offended by her shouldn't look, she is selling herself to her audience and if you don't want to buy, don't. Personally, I find her schtick to be immature and sophmoric, but then her audience is relatively unsophisticated anyway. Everything she's done, has been done and better (want to see better tweaking of the Catholic Church, check out Salvador Dali).
It'S BECAUSE She is who she is that she needs to STOP doing what she's doing. If she did this to a figure in the Koran in a Muslim country, she'd already have lost her head by now! Shock does not equal talent!
If she were Muslim, I have no doubt that she would use her art to comment on both the beauty and the bad in that particular religion. Since she is a devout Catholic, she confines her commentary to what she knows: the beauty of Christian faith and the utter hypocrisy and corruption of the Catholic Church. She should NEVER stop doing what her artistic vision, her faith, and her political values call her to do. No one makes you watch. If you don't like it, ignore her. It's not rocket science.
No, it's not rocket science. She's using what she knows TO MAKE MONEY. Probably to get her wiener removed.
